Expectations from Students


a. Read the Case Study / material well prior to the class discussion. He/she is also expected to
read the chapter indicated in the course plan as the faculty directs. It is expected to be sincere
in doing the assignments and class preparations
b. In the class discussion student is expected to participate actively and contribute to individual
and group learning.
c. Evaluation is a continuous process at SIBM. Every student needs to be aware of the timelines
given in the section below. Absence from these evaluations will mean non awarding of marks
in that particular component
d. Wherever applicable, group assignments require each student to contribute to the group effort.
This enhances group effectiveness and leads to greater appreciation of working in groups.
e. Students are expected to show high regard and appreciation for in class discipline and desist
from using mobile phones. This disturbs the class ambience and unnecessarily diverts
attention of other students as well as the faculty member.
f. Attendance is compulsory in all sessions. However, refer to guidelines in your academic
handbook for exceptions.
g. It is expected that student should actively participate in case analysis and incorporate the
theories into practical phenomena
h. Student should read newspapers, magazines todevelop parallel awareness on the current
business trends and events to get associated with the theories learnt.

Quality Assurance: -
The SI (DU) is actively monitoring student learning and quality of the student experience in all its
programs. A random selection of completed assessment tasks may be used for quality assurance,
such as to determine the extent to which program learning goals are being achieved. The
information is required for accreditation purposes, and aggregated findings will be used to inform
changes aimed at improving the quality of SI (DU) programs. All material used for such processes
will be treated as confidential and will not be related to course grades.

Brief profile of the Faculty Member:-


Prof. Ved Srinivas is an Assistant Professor currently working with Thiagarajar School of
Management located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He has nearly 8 years of experience in academia
and the industry. An alumnus of the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad and Indore, his focus is on the
areas of Psychology, Communication, Public Policy and General Management.He has also
appeared in the Interview for the IAS conducted by UPSC in New Delhi in 2008. A Geography
graduate from SBSE College, University of Delhi where he was adjudged the “Best student of the
year” for two years in a row. He completed his MBA from Symbiosis International University,
Pune. He successfully cleared the NET exam, and is certified by the UGC in the subject of
Management. His keen interest in policy making led him to establish a ‘Mini-Parliament’ – an
innovative pedagogical tool to train students in the art of policy making. He also holds a Master’s
Degree in International Relations and is tremendously interested in Global Businesses, Politics and
Institutions, and continues to upgrade his knowledge in these fields relentlessly, and has succeeded
in piquing the interest of his students in these subjects as well. A brilliant student himself, he is
dedicated to helping his students achieve their maximum potential and gain a holistic knowledge of
management and business. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Management from Bharathiar University,
Coimbatore at present in the area of HR/OB and Policymaking.
