LESSON PLAN IN MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY


GRADE 12 WEDNESDAY February 2, 2022
1:00 – 2:00

I. OBJECTIVES
a. Content Standards
The learner demonstrates understanding of media and
information literacy (MIL) and MIL related concepts.
b. Performance Standards
The learner organizes a creative and interactive symposium
for the community focusing on being a media and information
literate individual.
c. Learning Competencies / Objectives
i. Identify the different types of media:
ii. Define media convergence through current examples; and
iii. Demonstrate how variety of media affects everyday life
through a sketch.

a. Topic: Types of Media (Designed for 2 hours per Session)

b. Learning Plan
i. Motivation
The teacher will ask the students about the different
media they used in their everyday life as a student. The
students will do a partial classification of types of media which
will be checked if correct through a short video presentation.

ii. Presentation
The students will be group into 3 and will think of 10
examples each per category/types of media; Print, Broadcast,
New Media. They will present their answers using manila
paper after 5 mins. Then the teacher will show a concise PPT
explaining each type as well as Media Convergence.
iii. Integration of Learning
1. Application
The students will be grouped into 5, they will draw a stekch demonstrating
how variety of media affect their everyday life. They will do this activity for
15 minutes. Each group will be given 2 minutes to present their output in
front of the class.
