Description & Scope


Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) is undertaking the development of a seawater cooling supply and return works project with a
capacity of 75,000 m3/hr at Ras Al-Khair Industrial City (RIC), Saudi Arabia.
Tender no. 201-C02
The US$50 million project includes the following:
1. Installation of pumps (7 nos, 475 millions gallons per day)
2. Installation of water intake pump
3. Laying of pipes (diameter up to 3,300 millimetres)
4. Installation of the open channel (width - 20 meters, length - 8 km)
5. Construction of associated facilities

Published Date Description

15/12/2021 The project was in the execution stage as per the last update in April
2021. Since then, neither information has been procured related to its
progress, nor obtainable from contact with key stakeholders. We believe
the project to still be in the execution stage and have amended the project
dates accordingly. We will continue our efforts to obtain information on
this project.
26/04/2021 The construction works are ongoing and the timeframe for the completion
is unknown at this juncture.
16/08/2020 Construction works are progressed up to 85 percent and expected to
complete by the end of 2020.
06/04/2020 Construction works are ongoing on the project and expected to be
completed by Q4 2020.
22/10/2019 The project was expected to be completed early in the fourth quarter of
2019, however, there is no further information has been procured related
to its progress, nor obtainable from contact with key stakeholders. We
have amended the project dates accordingly to the second quarter of
2020. We continue our efforts to obtain information on the project.

16/07/2018 The construction works are progressing on the project and the expected
completion date is March 7, 2019.
13/03/2018 The construction works have progressed up to 75 per cent on the project
and overall completion is expected by December 2018.
13/11/2017 The construction works on the project are underway and overall
completion is expected by May 2018.
20/07/2017 The construction works have progressed up to 73 per cent on the project
and overall completion is expected by March 2018.
20/03/2017 Construction work on the project is ongoing and is expected to be
complete by February 2018.
08/12/2016 Construction work on the project is facing delay due to financial crisis and
is expected to be complete by October 2017.
29/08/2016 The construction works on the project are ongoing as per schedule and is
expected to be complete by July 2017.
12/04/2016 The construction works on the project has progressed upto 60% and is
expected to complete by July 2017.
09/12/2015 Construction work on the project is progressing as per schedule.

06/08/2015 The construction works on the project are in progress and is expected to
complete by July 2017.
24/03/2015 The construction works on the project are in progress and is estimate to
complete by 2017.
31/12/2014 The project is around 20 per cent complete. The duration of the project is
36 months and is expected to complete by July 2017.
24/12/2014 The main contract is awarded to Petroleum, Chemicals & Mining
Company Ltd, subsidiary of Saudi bin laden group.
01/04/2014 The tenders have been issued and bids have been submitted on 17th
March 2014. The bids are currently under evaluation.
29/11/2013 RCJ&Y has issued pre-qualification documents for the project, companies
are expected to submit their documents on 11th December 2013.
29/11/2013 Tender documents will be available to the pre-qualified companies on
29th December 2013 and submission is expected to be on 2nd February
2014.
