24K Carbon Tow

24,000 individual Carbon filaments make up this tow(yarn). It can be used to

selectively reinforce Fiberglass, Kevlar®, Carbon components. This high strength
Carbon Tow is ideal for fabricating small, high strength, low weight structures, as
well as building out fillets on Carbon parts. It can also be used to filament wind
tubes or for compression molding applications. It wets out easily with resin and
can be cut with a sharp pair of shears or used with out 1171-A Air Driven Chopper
Gun. For the highest strength properties we suggest using Epoxy or Vinyl-Ester
resin, although Polyester resin is also compatible..

Storage:
Product Properties 2393 24K Carbon Tow should be stored indoors. The recommended
storage conditions are 40° F - 77°F (5-25°C) and less than 50 percent RH.

Direct exposure to sunlight or rain should be avoided. If the roving is stored

Filament Dia. (µm) 7 Safety & Handling:
(1) Modulus/Elongation based on JIS R7601 Carbon Fibers contain ingredients which could be harmful if mishandled.
(strain range of 0.4-0.6%) unless otherwise noted Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided and necessary protective
(2) ASTM D4018 (strain range of 0.1-0.6%) equipment and clothing should be worn. Individuals should wash with soap
and water before eating, drinking, or using toilet facilities. Individuals should
observe conditions of good industrial hygiene and safe working practice.

Resin Compatibility:
2393, 24K Carbon Fiber Tow, is compatible with Polyester, Vinyl Ester,
and Epoxy Resins.
