5. Objetives

5.1. General Description

5.1.1. System / Name of the Project

Multiplexed System IRIZAR Brasil i6.

5.1.2. Objectives

This Document provides a description of the software implemented on the ACTIA Electronic Master &
Display. This software is developed on the Straton and Embedded Wizard tools.
All displayed texts are in Portuguese, but through a parameter one can define the language: Portuguese,
Spanish or English.

5.1.3. System Environment

The image below represents the configuration of the multiplexed system for the i6 Irizar Brasil.

This touch screen monitor is located at the left side of the driver’s seat.

The switchs/keys of the M&D shown on figure 2, both physically and in the screen, are used to control

the functions and to navigate through the menus on the screen. The keys of the navigation keyboard are

connected internally with the Eletronic M&D through a CAN bus. At the same time, the screen has touch

screen capability which permits the enabling or disabling of some functions. The M&D controller uses the

signals received from the navigation keyboard and from the screen to determine the information to be

displayed and its location.

The main disconnect switch, or the contact, or the key enabled to activate the system activate the
initializing screen, depending on each coach, since some buses do not have a main disconnect switch.

After the validation of the system, the main operating screen will be automatically displayed, without the
user’s participation.
To access the basic settings, click on the icon located at the lower right side of the screen.

Note: The screen recalibration can be performed in this screen. It is recommended that this process is
not performed unless absolutely necessary.

To enable this process it is necessary to press simultaneously the interior lighting key (this key is situated
at the left block of keys, in the upper left corner) and the horn selector key (on the right block of keys, in
the upper left corner) for at least 5 seconds.
After that, follow the instructions displayed on the screen and, finally, restart the computer by cutting the
power supply and then resuming it.

Clicking on the access icons to the available settings, one will access the screens to customize the display
for items such as the language, the time and the date.
Clicking on the icon located at the bottom right, one will return to the main operating screen.
Displayed information
This screen contains the access icons to the available settings that can be modified by the driver to
customize the display of items such as the language, time and date.
It also contains the access to advanced configurations, restricted to authorized personnel.

Clicking on the icon located at the bottom right, one will return to the main operating screen.
Displayed information
In this screen, the user can select the time and the date which will be displayed in the multiplexed system
screen.
Once the desired setting is completed, one has to click the OK button to set internally in the system, the
selected time and date.
Until the moment this information is set for the first time, it will be displayed in the main screen with a
flashing effect.

In the language menu, the user can select the language in which the information will be displayed in the
screen. The indicator light informs the currently selected language.
Once the desired setting is completed, one has to click the OK button to return to the basic settings
screen.
The selected language is maintained even if the bus is turned off.

Clicking on the icon located at the bottom right, one will return to the main operating screen.

Displayed information
On this screen one can perform the enabling or disabling of the funcions managed through the keyboard.
To know which functions are enabled, the indicators of each corresponding key is ligthed. When one
wants to change its status, one has to press the corresponding key for 3 seconds and the status will be
inverted and this can be confirmed through the indicator of that key.

Once the desired setting is completed, one has to click the OK button to return to the basic settings
screen.

appropritated parameters for the installation of the bus where it is placed.

This screen displays the various available options related to errors, such as viewing the active DTCs,
viewing the history of the multiplexed systems errors or, delete them.

Displayed information
This screen shows the information of those errors managed in the internal memory of M & D from its
origin (SA) code of error (SPN), mode of failure (FMI), count occurrences of this failure (OCC), hours
since the last activation of the system, total hours of work of the multiplexed system on that bus, time
and date of the last activation and bus speed at that moment.

Note: This list of errors is only dumped into the EEPROM memory at the time of the shutdown of the
system. While the system is activated this management is performed in the RAM.

After selecting the desired 4 digit password, one has to press the OK button to update internally the key

colors according to the importance, being red if it is a bug, yellow if a warning or gray if it is merely
informative.
