Introduction
Currently in Kenya there are an estimated 1.8 children who are out of school reason being either they
have dropped out of school or have never attended school at all. This is a dangerous situation as it greatly
compromises the development of our economy directly.

Purpose
We will be tackling lack of access to education in Kenya as we are aware that this is a nationwide
problem. The current estimated literacy rate for the adult population is at about 38.5% and reports state
that this could increase in the forthcoming years due to the effect of Covid-19. It has derailed numerous
pathways and opportunities for the youth as they have lacked access to education. Kenya however has
attempted to limit these effects by promoting online learning, this however is limited to private schools
and a handful of public ones. Leaving thousands of children without access to education which means
clearly more needs to be done.

Project Description
The online book donation project gives a platform that would allow people to give away books
that are unused and books that are no longer required by them. It maintains the information about
the details of their users, and manages the books donated by them. The system has the capability
to donate stationary as well, to different individuals. It is simple to understand and can be used by
anyone who is not familiar with Book donating systems.
Our goal is to increase the number of young people who have access to education in the current
climate.
