Buth - Elevator Speech

Hi, my name is Lauren Buth, and I currently teach Spanish to grades K-4 in Corona del
Mar.

I graduated from Cal State Long Beach, with a Bachelor’s in Spanish, and I received my
credential there as well. I also spent 6 weeks studying abroad in South America.

I consider myself a teacher leader because I regularly implement new strategies into my
classroom such as Comprehensible Input and Teaching Proficiency Through
Storytelling. I provide my colleagues guidance and resources for implementing these
strategies in their classrooms as well.

I positively impact student learning by creating an environment where students are

willing to take risks when learning Spanish, which has helped improve their knowledge
and comprehension of the language.

My strengths include the ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and
student learning. I also regularly assess my teaching skills and reach out to language
teachers online and attend many Professional Development events

I would be a great asset to your school because I work well with others, and am always
looking for ways to improve my teaching skills.
