Abstract

Being working students is not an easy role because working students have been

identified to often that experience the difficulties in balancing work and academic

performance though not to justify poor performance. Often having less sleep and time in

building family and social relationship. Being working students have also affected their

academic performance of an individual. That is why the researchers conduct this study

to know what are the struggles encountered by working students. The purpose of this

study is to determine the difficulties that the working students experiencing, specifically

determine the factors that may affect their academic performance. Random Sampling

was carried out and the data were collected from 50 respondents that are the students

taken Business related course currently enrolled in kolehiyo ng Subic and the same time

working in any establishment. The result shows that majority of the 50 respondents are

male (58%) from the age 18-20 years old (42%). most of them are working on fast

food/services (54%), and majority of the working students taken a Bachelor of Science

in Business Administration major in Financial Management (60); due for them to get a

low average of 2.00-2.25 got the (52%). In addition, the most factors that affects their

academic performance is their Work-life Balance. Because even they are working while

studying, they still know how to manage their self to do their different course works in

their everyday life and this factor got the highest mean among the all factors it has a

mean of (3.55).
