A Band for the Industry

Music has been a part of every individual in today’s generation. During this pandemic,
music can help us motivate and relax. Bands are becoming popular again these days because of
the people who enjoy listening to various band songs. These bands are namely IV of Spades and
Wallows. Although these bands are becoming popular again in today’s age, they still differ in
genre, fashion, and origin.

First, IV of Spades and Wallows are both common in members. Each of the two bands
consists of three members. In IV of Spades, the three members are Zild Benitez
(Bassist/Keyboardist/Lead Vocalist), Blaster Silonga Lead Guitarist/Sub-Vocalist), and Badjao
De Castro (Drummer/Sub-Vocalist). The band Wallows also consists of three members: Dylan
Minnette (Rhythm Guitarist/Bassist/Lead Vocalist), Braeden Lemasters (Lead Guitarist/Main
Vocalist), and Cole Preston (Drummer/Sub-Vocalist).

These two bands are also common due to their influences. IV of Spades and Wallows was
inspired by bands and artists in the 60’s, 70’s, 80's, and 90’s. These bands and artists were Led
Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Smiths, ABBA, Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix and The Cure. Because of
the inspiration and influences, they were able to recreate the sound of the bands back then. Many
people are surprised that these two bands will be able to recreate something old and revive it in
today’s generation.

Lastly, IV of Spades and Wallows are both common in the type of music they listen to.
These two bands were influenced by bands and artists in the 60’s, 70’s, 80's, and 90’s. When it
comes to the genre of music they listen to, these bands have both in common.

If these two bands have something in common with each other, they also have
differences. First, IV of Spades and Wallows differ in genre. This genre means the sound of the
band. The genre of the band IV of Spades is "pop funk" or "funk rock", while the band Wallows
is "alternative rock" or "indie rock". The sound of IV of Spades can be classified as more funky,
groovy, and wild rock. Meanwhile, the genre of Wallows can be classified as alternative rock and
more independent.
IV of Spades and Wallows also differ in terms of fashion or style. The style of IV
of Spades has more 60’s or 70’s outfit inspirations. The band Wallows fashion or style is
more of a 80’s casual outfit. The fashion of both bands are great and it fits well in the
genre of the band.

Lastly, IV of Spades and Wallows differ in their origin. IV of Spades originated in


the Philippines, and the band was formed in 2014. Wallows originated in Los Angeles,
and the band was formed in 2017. In 2017, they began releasing songs independently.
The manager of IV of Spades was the father of Blaster Silonga, and his name was Allan
Silonga. The band Wallows has no manager or producer. They all produce and write their
songs independently.

To summarize, IV of Spades and Wallows are both excellent bands with a lot of
talent. The songs they released were well-received and well-liked by many people.
People should admire every talented band in the long run. Most crucial, to those who are
receiving little or no care. At the end of the day, many people will begin to appreciate and
introduce various bands to the music industry.
