    What is Full day
    School ?
    Full Day School is a full day of activities at school.

    In the release of Permendikbud Number 23 of 2017 it is explained that full day school
    means that school days must last 8 hours per day from Monday to Friday starting at
    06.45-15.30 WIB, with a break every two hours. The duration of this KBM is also in
    accordance with the 2013 curriculum.
    But, is it effective ?

    What happened with
    full day school ?
    Lack of Attention and fatigue

    Longer school days could result in lack of attention and fatigue, making the
    extra class time ineffective. When students are too tired or mentally exhausted
    to concentrate, the last hour of the day becomes useless.
    research conducted (Sari, 2018) on the effect of the full day school program,
    it was found that 93.2% of students experienced boredom because of the
    many activities at school for 8 hours a day. The length of time in school and
    teaching methods do not vary causing students to feel bored, bored and
    sleepy when the learning process takes place.
    children get minimal rest and play time because
    they are required to take part in various
    additional activities outside of school, including
    extracurricular and tutoring.

    This will gradually overwhelm the brain and


    become very tired, making the child vulnerable
    to stress. Stress is bad for children. Many
    scientific studies have reported that
    schoolchildren who sleep less than six hours per
    night are reported to be three times more likely
    to suffer from depression.
    WHAT SHOULD WE DO ?
    THE GOVERNMENT
    Competent parties should examine full day school problems in depth and thoroughly. for example to
    change school curriculum to be a normal day school

    THE EDUCATORS
    the teacher gives input to superiors to adjust the learning hours to the needs of students, because the
    teacher is also tired

    SOCIETY
    parents pay more attention to the child's needs if the child has problems in the full day school system
    and also parents can talk to the school committee about the problem concerned
