LESSON TITLE: Skills for Employability

What challenge did you try to resolve recently? What was it about? What was the outcome?
How did you feel about the outcome?

Recently, I tried to plan things for this year’s movement. I was stuck either I am going to continue
studying or stop and find a work. I found myself for being not the kind of student I wanted to be
and continue to doubt that I will not be successful in this kind of learning step up. I seek for signs
and luckily made my decision to continue studying with my desired course. I was glad with my
decision and I will prove to myself that I will not blame myself for the next day.

Were you ever part of a team? What did you do as a leader? What did you do as a follower?

Yes, I am part of a team. I cannot give an exact organization but I can tell that I was once a team
member. I experienced being a leader and I found it hard when you have issues with yourself. As
a leader, I lend a helping hands and ears to my followers. I did not allow myself to be an arrogant
one. When someone has an idea, I listened to it before making conclusions. As a follower, I am
responsible and tried to be a good follower also. I know being a leader is difficult especially when
handling irresponsible and disobedient members.

Did you ever say something to your friends (or parents) and got misunderstood? What do
you think was the cause of the misunderstanding?

Yes, it was about my plan to find a work than studying. I believe that education is the greatest gift
that a parent could give to their child that is why they encourage me to continue study than find
work. Right now, I see myself as an adult not a student. It hurts my ego seeing that my parents
were still giving me funds knowing that with my age I can find a job. They explained to me that it
was their responsible to support me especially with my study and I understand it. I cannot tell them
I am struggling today because I know it will cause them an ache whenever I’ll tell it.

Did you try learning to do something new recently? What was difficult or easy about
learning a new task or hobby?

Yes, I tried. Our family has a small business and instead of hiring an employee, I offer myself
since I wanted a job. Even though my family will pay me or not, it will not matter to me. As long as
I made efforts and help them, it was fine already.

 I feel motivated to become a better version of myself whenever I’ll assigned into tasked
which needs efforts and good outcome.
 I am responsible enough and have shown this through whenever the time will come.I will
empower myself and be a model to them.
 A decision that I am happy about is I am able to knew the difference of a Boss and a Leader
and with that I will choose to become a leader than a boss.
 I would like to improve my communication an problem solving skills.

Reflect on these skills and ask yourself, how might I develop the following skills in the
classroom or at home?

To become a leader, you have duties and skills needed to become the person that your citizen
wanted. I know that nothing is perfect but I know we can be the best one in ourselves. Knowing
these 12 skills are vital. A leader is like a machine, it cannot function well if it lacks functions and
ability to render a smooth and easier job to its people. An unskilled leader is nothing. An arrogant
leader needs to to replace. An emotional leader is weak. Right now, I am practicing these skills for
my future plans. It doesn’t mean practicing these skills directly involves to politics. A leader is
everything not only as politicians. You can be a leader in your community or even at home.for me
to choose, I will see myself as a leader and follower. I know I can stand with the two and it will
make my life decisions easier also.
