BAHAN BANTU MENGAJAR: "VISUAL LEARNING"

Welcome,
Visual
Learners!
Visual learning?
Visual learning focuses on what we can see, so anything
that is looked at or watched is part of visual learning.
Learners who gravitate toward visual learning appreciate
seeing things in order to help them learn, rather than
hearing or experiencing them. Understanding learners
who prefer to be taught visually is important for teachers
who want to create lesson plans that help all their
students.

Saying “I can’t picture this”

Saying “I never forget a face”
Saying “I want to draw that out”
Doodling while taking notes or listening

Visual to lectures
Wanting to see a graph to understand a

Learning statistic or number

Styles Understanding a concept better after seeing

Cues a picture
Loving watching the teacher demonstrate
solving a problem
Saying “Can you show me?”
Having a positive reaction to assignments
involving coloring, reading, or writing

Teaching Aid 1:
Draw on The Draw programming "canvas" on
SpheroEdu is designed to teach
SpheroEDu primary principals of programming
like sequencing and basic logic
through basic swipes that represent
JavaScript code.
How to apply?
Step 1: Students learn to draw basic 2D shapes on "drawing
canvas" using SpheroEdu
Step 2: Students can use different colours to make the shapes
more unique.
Step 3: Students grab some paper and something to draw with.
They will imagine a robot and think about which shapes make it
up. On a piece of paper, students draw a simple robot using
shapes that they are familiar with.
Step 4: Take a picture of their drawing and attach it.
Teaching Aid 2:
Educational Educational posters are a classic
teaching aid that can breathe life into

Posters a classroom. Hanging posters up on

your classroom walls will not only
invite color into the environment,
they’ll also act as helpful resources
for students.
Types of
educational
poster

Here’s an educational poster that you could

pin up in your classroom. The three study
tips on this poster are organized with a
different colored background. This is a
simple poster design trick to help the
information stand out.
Types of
educational
poster

Meanwhile, this educational poster uses

icons to visualize each different type of
learner. A poster with this layout this can be
useful for introducing students to new or
foreign concepts (for example, words in a
secondary language) because they can
associate each word with a visual.
Infographics are a perfect classroom
tool because they can make complex

Teaching Aid 3: information easier to understand.

There are many different types of

Infographics infographics you can create,

depending on the information you
want to visualize. For example, you
could make an infographic to
summarize a new topic, to show a
timeline of events, to visualize
statistics, to explain a process–and
more.

Types of
infographics

This educational infographic uses a

combination of charts, icons and creative
text to show statistics about teens and
social media. Visuals aids like these can be
helpful for students who have trouble
wrapping their heads around big numbers.
Types of
infographics

The cool thing about infographics is that

there’s so many approaches you can take to
create one. And the design doesn’t have to be
complicated–just effective. For example, this
infographic uses a pattern graphic design of
colorful circles to represent different vitamins.
Associating each vitamin with a color can help
students remember each one.
