1. What is the relevance of mass communication to education?
As a future educator mass communication is very important to education of the
learners because it will serve as one of the medium or tools of the learners to have a
better or quality education. The student will have the opportunity to practice their craft
and share their thoughts and insights about certain issues. Mass communication helps
student become more aware of what’s happening around them. They learn how to
become responsive and proactive citizens at a young age. Additionally, it helps and trains
students to become responsible. Mass communication also helps students improve their
skills in communication arts. The students have given regular tasks editing, writing,
proofreading, and headline writing, among others. As such, they are trained in various
fields.

2. How does mass communication impact the society?


Mass communication has a great impact on our society because it will serve as the
bridge of information into the community through different channels. By using mass
communication it has the power to change the perspective, the opinion and the awareness
of people in a society. Mass media is a very important role in the development of today’s
society. It impacts on the social consciousness to establish and consolidate a system of
political thought leaders for society; associate members of society into a unity. The mass
communication is viewed as a source of power that influences, controls, and promotes new
standards in the society and reinforces the existing ones. As the media increases in use as
our prime source for information and values, there is a great need to critically evaluate
inherent socio-political and cultural.
