IET student chapter AIT

By the guidance and support of Principal Sir Dr. Asok De, Dr. Vinod kanaujia sir, Mrs. Manisha Kulbe
ma'am, Mrs CS Vineetha ma'am, IET student chapter was opened in our college to increase
technical/extracurricular activities.

After IEEE-AIT, IET-AIT is the second technical society in our college.

The IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology
community, with more than 150,000 members in 127 countries and offices in Europe, North America
and Asia-Pacific. The IET provides a global knowledge network to facilitate the exchange of ideas and
promote the positive role of science, engineering and technology in the world.

The chapter was founded by STUDENT COUNSELLOR-> Dr. Vinod Kanoujia.

Designators letters
Demonstrate your professional status to your colleagues and peers with IET designatory letters. They

IET awards designatory letters to its members (TMIET and MIET), Fellows (FIET) and Honorary Fellows

Professional registration

these peer-assessed and internationally recognised professional engineering qualifications. The
IET is licensed by the Engineering Council to assess applicants and award the following titles:

 Chartered Engineer (CEng);


 Incorporated Engineer (IEng);
 Engineering Technician (EngTech);
 ICT Technician (ICTTech).

Awards
The IET rewards engineering aspirations, enterprise and excellence with a range of annual awards. These
recognise the exceptional achievements of individuals working in the engineering and technology

Magazines
The IET publishes a range of member magazines that are produced to the highest editorial
standards by a team of specialist editors who are leading experts in their fields. The magazines

 Engineering and Technology (E&T) magazine


A regularly published IET flagship member magazine packed with news, features and
industry developments.
 Flipside
Members are entitled to 20 per cent off subscriptions to Flipside. This award-winning
magazine for teenagers is designed to encourage their interest in science, engineering and
technology and allows them to consider careers in these field, making this the perfect gift

Journals
You'll find the latest research and information of the highest quality in your field when you subscribe to
an IET journal, saving up to 20 per cent on individual titles. This suite of 20 research journals and two
letters journals spans the entire spectrum of engineering and technology.

IET Digital Library


Members can access the abstracts of more than 90,000 technical papers from all journals,
magazines, conference publications and seminar digests through the IET Digital Library, free of
charge. Members can also access the full text of articles (in PDF format) by purchasing an
additional subscription and individual papers may be purchased by pay-per-view. Highly cited
journals such as Electronic Letters are available alongside the entire IET research journal suite.

IET Library and Archives


Our library has a world-class collection of digital and printed resources on all areas of
engineering and technology. Members have access to over 65,000 books and 3,000 journals. Our
archive collects and preserves the records of the IET since its foundation in 1871.

Events 
Members enjoy discounted rates of up to 20 per cent for bookings at over 1,500 leading conferences,
seminars and lectures each year. Held all over the world, these events cover all aspects of engineering
and technology.

Volunteering
IET members can get involved with a broad range of volunteering opportunities from being a mentor or
qualification assessor, to organizing meeting and events or helping author new publications.
Volunteering will give you great personal satisfaction whilst being an enjoyable and rewarding
experience which enhances both your professional and personal development.
My IETs
My IET is a customized web portal where you can manage your own membership from paying your
subscription fees online, to ensuring your contact details and preferences are up to date. By registering
with My IET, you can also access exclusive web content.

Diplomas
Members of the IET who are entitled to use designatory letters can apply for a diploma. This certifies
their status of membership and their Engineering Council professional registration (if applicable).

Undergraduate scholarships

The IET offers a range of scholarships of up to £3,000 per annum for undergraduate students
studying in the UK or Ireland.

Postgraduate scholarships

If you achieved a 2:1 or higher in your first degree then why not apply for an IET Postgraduate

The IET Innovation Awards 2010

The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the products, technologies and processes that lead the way
in engineering innovation. Spanning 15 categories, the awards are judged by engineering experts

Ambition Awards 2011 - engineering scholarships

The Ambition Awards programme includes a range of undergraduate and postgraduate IT and
