HE Year of the Water Tiger starts on
February 1, 2022 and will last until
January 21, 2023 when the Year of the
Rabbit begins.
AS the third of the 12 Chinese
zodiac signs, Tiger represents en-
ergy, strength, leadership, purpose-
fulness and protection, among
others, but also vulnerability,
sensitivity, overestimation and an
“all or nothing” attitude.
According to Feng Shui Master
Marites Allen, “The year is envisioned
to be a fierce one like the Tiger, but
with some feng shui help, you can
turn challenges into opportunities
for growth.”
She continues, “Water-element
industries, namely maritime,
transport, aquaculture and ship-
ping, could explore new markets
and had the potential to enjoy sus-
tainable and profitable activities.
“Investments related to ports,
rivers and maritime businesses
were seen to be good. Businesses
developing innovative solutions
and technologies were also per-
ceived to be profitable.
“There were also supposed to
be major changes, including the
wider use of electronic banking
and digital currencies. It would
probably be a matter of time that
crypto would surely be a reserve
currency of the future alongside
the US Dollar, silver and gold.
Volatility can further be seen in
property markets in the form of
a possible bubble where buyers
can enjoy good deals and sellers
incur losses. The first quarter may
be quiet, with things perking up
later in the year.
With regards to health, Allen
sees the presence of the “Misfor-
tune Star 5” in 2022 via strong
wood and water charts, indicat-
ing the potential for more drastic
climate change impacts, tsunamis
and more water-related incidents.
She added that the same star
could increase illnesses, espe-
cially the digestive system, and
the continuation of Covid-19
throughout the year.
But rather than be scared, Allen
said that she chooses to see the glass
half full. “We’ve had very good two
years of ‘practice’ living, suffering
