1986
New Beginnings
Mr. Jose E. B. Antonio started Century Properties
in February 1986 with 6 employees just six days
before the People Power Revolution that would
change the country forever. The economy was in
shambles and the nation was facing tremendous
political upheaval. Yet Mr. Antonio was fuelled
by optimism. “When people start saying ‘be
conservative’ that’s when you need to be bullish.”
Armed with a simple plan and vision for the
future, the entrepreneur and his team of young
professionals established their foothold in the real
estate industry. And as the gears of democracy
began working again, Mr. Antonio forged ahead
with courage and confidence. Thus commencing
the beginnings of a true game changer in the
landscape of Philippine property history.
A Logo Is Born
The Century Properties logo is established. Shaped as
three expanding houses, it signifies growth and potential.
Century has always focused on growing and tapping into
the potential of its ideas, markets, and people. Mr. Antonio
himself has the uncanny ability to see possibilities that
other people tend to overlook. As the company slogan said
at the time, “We see things a Century ahead” –
it was true then and remains true to this day.
2000
1988 - 1998
The First Decade
Century, even in its formative years, created projects that
were ahead of its time. The company built 9 buildings
during this period, including the group of French-inspired
residences in Makati called Le Triomphe (1991), La Maison
Rada (1992), Le Metropole (1992) and Le Domaine (1994),
and the Medical Plazas in Makati (1996) and Ortigas (1998).
