REFLECTION : on the life of the 3 Sisters

Reflection

“Self-discipline is the ability of an individual to act according to his/her knowledge,

experience, and consciousness. It helps him/her to achieve maximum potential.”
I grew up with the mindset that only God is perfect, and that my capabilities have
its limitations. I grew up with the principle that failure is an inevitable part of creating your
destiny, and is something that should not be viewed as a step backward from my own
dreams. As a matter of fact, I would have not become the person I am today if I hadn't faced

daily risks, GRADUATE SCHOOL stayed in my

comfort zone, and refused to listen to the negative comments from myself and the people
around me.
I always look forward to people like Mother Marie Macheau, who used and
survived failure even if they lack experience and mastery. But instead, they continue to
work hard for their success and have gained irreplaceable knowledge and the unstoppable
perseverance born from overcoming different tests and hardships. Of course, bid dreams
do really come true. But it takes guts, resilience, hard work, humility, dedication and
overcoming obstacles to make your dreams a reality.
To note, success is way more than being rich and famous. Success means the
satisfaction and happiness one acquires from carrying out a particular way of life. And to
become successful, no matter how limited our means and capabilities are, it is necessary
for us to never give up until the goal of satisfaction and happiness in life is fully met.

The PAULINIAN 5 C’s: Core Values

TASK:

1. Discuss the importance of the Paulinian Core values as Paulinian Identity in relation
to you respective profession.

 “Core values are what support the vision, shape the culture and reflect what
the school values. They are the essence of the school’s identity by reflecting the
community’s beliefs about what it considers to be the most important desirable
qualities to guide everybody’s behavior.”
For many years, St. Paul University of the Philippines remains steadfast with
regards to its core values; Christ-centeredness, commission, community, charism
and charity. The university truly aims to prepare every individual that’s part of the
university as contributing members in a productive society, and as a follower of
Christ.
Being a part of the Paulinian family, I know in myself that these core values
of the school will truly guide me to better myself personally, professionally and
spiritually. As an educator, I know that these values will soon be shared and will
definitely be shared to my students- I know that they look up to me as their role
model. And because the university undoubtedly follows the way of Jesus, I want
that eagerness in me be an instrument in spreading His words to my students, to
people around me.

2. How can I imbibe the Paulinian Core Values and respond to my calling as a Paulinian
for the world?
