Government around the world is known for having a significant standing in the success,
development, and improvement of their respective countries. Economic growth is the most influential
tool for decreasing poverty and refining the value of life in evolving countries.

It is often said that strong political leadership is very necessary for economic development.
Leaders play a vital role and lay the foundation of a developed or developing country. Great leaders hold
the rein of future planning and execution of the development plan of a country. Politicians need to do
lots of things to encourage development, they need to build and maintain infrastructure and raise and
spend finance wisely on the right projects. The ever-growing complexity of politics in an increasingly
interdependent world has made leadership in terms of providing direction, providing the needs of
citizens, providing guidance, and devising solutions for collective problems for the development of the
economy. When it comes to decision-making, leaders must be transparent and unbiased for the benefit
of everyone. Leaders must not be corrupt, because corruption is known to have a disproportionate
impact on the poor in terms of income inequalities, access to essential services, and resource
distribution.

Development has always involved the interaction of states, markets, and society. The roles and
relationships of the public sector, private sector and civil society have been central themes in analysis
and action around the progressive social, economic and political change that constitutes development in
its broadest terms. Genuine public participation in these sectors provides a foundation for democratic
and responsive government. Participation will not cure all of the ills of government, but it will go some
distance to alleviating the ills of the politics of development policy reform.

Successful economic development requires improved functioning of the public, private, and
citizen sectors. These sectors have weaknesses that must be addressed. And at the same time, each
plays an essential role in attaining balanced, shared, and sustainable development.
