Jeff Bezos, owner and founder of one of the biggest companies of the world, Amazon has

managed to grow an empire and run one of the most successful companies of the world.
Amazon, which started off as an online bookseller in 1995, later transitioned to an e-
commerce website with a wide variety of goods including electronics, clothes, and
essentials. Shortly after its launch, Amazon recorded sales of almost $20,000 in a week,
which is an impressive number. Over the years, Amazon continued to grow. This was
possible because of the relentless efforts and leadership style of Jeff Bezos.
Jeff Bezos is an innovative entrepreneur and is constantly on the lookout for opportunities
to venture into. He aims to search for opportunities that offer unique products and services
to its customers. He is an individual who believes in experimentation. He quoted, “If you
want big winners, then you have to be willing to have many failures, with one big winner taking
care of a thousand failed experiments.” However, his experiments are very strategic and are
aimed at success. From a traditional business point of view, businesses should aim at selling one
product to the customers. However, Amazon strategically offers a variety of products and
services to its consumers. Therefore, Amazon has created a strategic diversity in terms of the
products that it offers to its consumers. Amazon is a customer-focused brand which tries to
provide the customers with the best products and services.
Jeff Bezos is known to be a transformational and task-oriented leader who believes in giving
results. The various leadership qualities that Jeff Bezos has are as follows:

1. He believes in taking into consideration the long-term goals of the business. Every step
that is taken by Amazon is meant to serve customers, which will be involved in the vision
no matter how big or small that is.
2. He is a firm believer of the fact that strong communication stems from deep thinking
and if you don’t think clearly, you cannot explain your message clearly.
3. He stresses on the fact that it is extremely important for him to know his market. A
business needs an established market for it to sell its products to.
4. He believes in recruiting the best of the talent, nurturing them so as to improve their
existing skillset and retaining the talent by providing them with a wide range of
opportunity to experiment with.
