INVITATION FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF SIM AND

RECHARGING CARDS

Ethio Telecom (hereinafter called “ET”) invites all interested potential local public,
private, state owned business organization and Cooperatives/Associations (hereinafter
called “Distributors”) by this request for proposal (hereinafter called “RFP”) to submit
distribution proposal and if selected to engage with ET as non-exclusive authorized
distributors for sales and distribution of both SIM Cards and recharging cards (Voucher
cards) in regions mentioned below.
1. North West region

2. North East Region

3. West Region

4. South Region

5. South West Region

6. South East Region

7. Eastern Region

1. Distributors may apply for more than one but limited to a maximum of three region.
Separate sealed application, as described in Article 10 of the bid document need to be
submitted for each region.

2. The Distributors should submit their renewed original license and VAT certificate with
copies when they come to obtain the RFP documents. Those Distributors that cannot
provide their trade registration and licensing documents should submit their legal
establishment original document with copies. The RFP remains floating from May 4 to May
30, 2011.

RFP documents can be obtained from ET’s Head Office, Churchill road 2nd floor Room No.
201 by paying non-returnable 30 Birr. Interested bidders can buy the bid document during
office hours from 8:30am to 4:00pm from Monday to Friday.

All proposals must be accompanied by RFP security of Birr 20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Birr).
4.1 The Bid bond must be in either of the following form

a) Cash

b) Certified Cheque (CPO) issued by a recognized Bank or

c) Bank guarantee from recognized bank.

4.2 Distributors who wish to submit Bid security in the form of cash are required to deposit
to ET’s Head Office 3rd floor Room No. 308 before May 31, 2011, 10:00 AM and
produce the receipt during the RFP opening time (31 May 2010).

Distributors should prepare their RFP document in a wax-sealed envelope marked as

“Proposal for Prepaid Voucher card and SIM Card Distribution” and addressed to:

The proposal will be received at the ET’s Head Office Room No.110 in Addis Ababa before or
on May 30, 2011, until 5:00 PM. Proposals received after this closing time will be
automatically rejected.
Proposals received in time and fulfilling the other formalities shall be opened in the presence of
interested Distributors or their legal representative at 10:00 A.M on May 31, 2011 ET’s
Head office at Addis Ababa, 2nd floor, Room No. 211.
The Company reserves the right to reject all or parts of this RFP.
