Thank you, _____________ for your kind introduction.

Our honorable
mayor, ______________________, our energetic supervisor, ___________,
our barangay captain, Hon. , principal of ___________
School____________________ parents, visitors, and most importantly,
graduates of Class 2011, warm greetings to each and everyone of you.

It is my honor to speak before you today with a message of hope and

encouragement for every one of us here. . When I was invited personally by
your very good school head, Madam _____________ to share the
graduation message this year, ---------- I did not hesitate to accept the
invitation for two reasons despite of the distance and difficult travel i will be
going through: Firstly, it was my promise and I already accepted this task
long before. Secondly, I want to encourage you young graduate today to
pursue your dreams and ambitions in life.

My dear graduates of ___________________________ Batch 2011,let me

join your teachers, parents and friends in extending the warmest greetings on
the occasion of the school’s __th Commencement Exercises! Seeing you
glowing with joy and pride makes me confident that you have completed one
important step towards a more promising future for you, your family and our
country. This confidence grows stronger because I believe that your teachers
who nurtured you are armed with the right experiences and passion of
molding school children to become responsible adolescents. As you continue
to metamorphose into a productive element of our society, I feel even more
confident that the mission of DepED Eastern Samar Divsion is undoubdtedly
parallel with this year’s theme “The Graduate: A Partner Towards
Transformational Society, an Answer to Societal Change”. This is the
national theme of the 2011 graduation in the entire country. Basically, i have
to tell on how graduates can contribute to the ongoing transformations in
Filipino society. Generally, this means the transition from a colonial and
traditional society that has historically been over-run by outside political,
corporate and cultural interests to a modern society with a uniquely Filipino
identity.

Being responsible is a basic duty of the citizen. In this care free world, where
people don't give much importance to their responsibilities, it is time to insist
them that we need to be responsible, make others responsible and question
other's responsibility. To emphasize this ‘SOCIETAL CHANGE’ will
conduct awareness programmes on various issues which has direct or
indirect impact on citizens of our country.

‘SOCIETAL CHANGE’ will also help people to know and achieve their
social rights. To do this, the Society will involve people from different walks
of life and form an elite panel to guide the activities of the society, which
will create a conducive atmosphere and space to voice common people
concerns. With these thoughts in mind, I am certain that when you leave the
perimeters of your Alma Mater, you are more than ready to face the
challenges posed by our ever-changing society.
I was once a student like you when I experienced the hardships in life.
As I stand in front of you now, I've been recalling all the struggles and
sacrifices I had encountered before achieving to what I am now today. Like
the most of us here, I also came from a hard-up family which my parents'
income belongs below poverty line, however it didn’t hinder me to pursue
my studies for I wanted to alleviate our family from financial crisis. Trials
always attacked me in the middle of my journey to success and had
weakened me gradually. But I thanked the Lord for pouring me more
strength always at that time so I didn't fall and stumble. I have finished my
Bachelor's degree and landed a respectable job as a teacher three months
after my graduation.
Let me imphasize the importance of education in our lives.
The importance of education is really very clear, for without it, I could not
have given the opportunity to stand here in front you as a guest speaker in
your Graduation Day. It is a clear evidence of my success though failures
will never be absent in every endeavor, however, I am proud to say that I
SUCCEED and have started helping my family step higher from the poverty
line.
Our world will stay stagnant and far to being progressive if all people
living have no knowledge to perform their responsibilities. For all of us have
different task to do to build a progressive and productive nation.

Education is basically important for two reasons according to
Maulana Wahiduddin Khan an Islamic spiritual scholar. "The first is the
training of a human mind which is not complete without education.
Education makes a man a right thinker". Our teachers in the school trained
us to become a right thinker so that as we continue our game we can manage
decision-making process. It is clearly stated that a human being who has not
gone to school is not in their proper sense until he is educated. I can
remember our neighbor who was called by her friend as ignorant for she
made wrong decisions always. Do you want to be called ignorant? I know
your answer is a big no!

The second reason for the importance of education is that only through
the attainment of education, man is enabled to receive information from the
external world; to acquaint him with past history and receive information
regarding the present. Without education, man is thought in a closed-room
and with education he finds himself in a room with all its windows open
towards outside world. Thus, making our lives change for the better.
Graduation ceremony marks one stage of person's life to another.
"Your next venture in the real world begins today, wherever you go, always
bring your own sunshine to light the world. Do not be easily discouraged as
trials come on your way because those will help you become even smoother
than before. Think always all the advantages and opportunities that may be
offered to you when you are a degree holder already. Job competition is very
high in our world today so be equipped with all the appropriate skills and
knowledge required. But do not forget to practice and live a set of good
moral values in life for that will be your ticket to the good life that awaits
you in the real world and the key to change the lives of the people living on
it.

Strengthen yourselves with virtues that will enable you to achieve your
goals. Try to cultivate patience, industry, devotion to duty, honesty, faith and
hope--with such weapons you cannot fail. As you march forward into a new
and uncertain world, carry with you the teachings and knowledge you have
acquired from your Alma Mater. In the furtherance of your education and the
pursuit of your chosen careers, always have self-determination for the path
is not rosy but thorny, and only those who are brave, determined, and
godly - survive and succeed.

Who is calling the signals of your life? Do you realize that your mind is
the only thing in this world that you can totally control? Master it. Don't
submit your mind, which is God-given and fantastic in its possibilities to any
human being. Don't let doubts, criticisms, failures make you afraid. Persist
every day, and you will achieve.

      In the Bible we read "Keep on asking and the gift will be given you;
keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and the door will open
to you." That's it. If you keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking,
you will surely reach your goal....Thank you, congratulations once again
and Godspeed!
