I am pleased to provide this letter of recommendation on behalf of XXX. As her counselor for four years,
I have witnessed XXX being one of the most responsible, diligent, selfless, and caring students I have
ever met. She is such a remarkable student which is evident as she is the top three in her class.

As an academic scholar, XXX has continuously strived for excellence through her honors and AP classes
despite the challenges that she has faced. Although XXX dealt with domestic violence at home that
resulted in her dad going to jail twice, she did not have that set her back through her academic
achievements. XXX always chooses to remain optimistic and make the best of situations. As she found
comfort in school from learning, XXX has shown interest in STEM particularly in Chemistry and
Mathematics by engaging in programs that would prepare her for college like learning about essay writing
and mathematics, learning from Ivy League professors and graduate students through Yale Young Global
Scholars, Northwestern Academy, and Questbridge College Prep Scholars. These rigorous programs have
made a lasting impact on her as she aspires to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. As a proud Hispanic, she
hopes that she can encourage diversity in the medical community and advocate for herself and other
people of color. I admire how she chooses to go far and beyond with her work and wanting to represent
diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM.

Not only does XXX take the time in her academic works, her commitment to excellence is undeniable
even outside of the classroom. She is involved in numerous extracurricular activities like the Math team,
AP mentor, National Honors Society, and Northwestern Academy. Her love for math made her qualify as
one of the top scorers for Von. Some notable honors that he qualified for was placing 2nd in a Geometry
Individual Regional Contest, winning 1st place in Algebra I Team, 1st Place Team Placements at City
Math Competitions for all 3 years. She has received many outstanding awards through Questbridge
College Prep School for a City Science Fair exhibition, State Science Fair, and Yale Young Global
Scholar competitions. XXX has demonstrated her talents and abilities by being a significant member of
her community.

XXX is an incredible young man who knows how to break barriers and advocate for minorities which she
credits learning from her oldest sister. I have never doubted XXX’s resilience to obstacles or her
positivity towards others. She is such a bright, dedicated, humble, and friendly individual who is well
liked by many. I am confident that she will continue to achieve Her goals and could not be more proud of
