ACTIVITY – PROJECTILE MOTION

SAMPLE COMPUTATION:

SIMULATION ET-UP
1) To compute for the time t, REFER TO Procedure #19
Compute for the time using the formula for the x-component of displacement.
∆ x=v ix t ; t=¿ ∆ x /v ix where vix =v cos θ

Ex: vix =40 x cos (−15) = 38.64 m/s

t=¿ ∆ x /v ix = 220/ 38.64 = 5.69 s

2) To compute for the final velocity, REFER to Procedure #20

Speed and angle:

v=√( v x )2 +(v y )2 (speed, magnitude of velocity)

vy
θ=tan −1 (direction of the projectile)
vx

Ex: v=√ (39)2+(66)2 = 76.66 m/s

−1 66
θ=tan = θ=tan −1 ( 1.69 )=❑59.40o
