“Racism”

What precisely is racism? Racism cannot be defined without first identifying race. Among social scientists,
'race' is commonly considered as a social construct. Although physiologically nonsensical when applied to
Humans — physical distinctions such as skin color do not exist. Despite its inherent link with group
variations in ability or conduct, race plays a huge role in constructing social reality. Race is a socially
manufactured artifact that categorizes people based on observable characteristics that are imputed to
represent invisible differences. These classifications are amorphous and flexible across time, reflecting their
sociological rather than physical origin. Its relevance stems from the connotations we as cultures attach to it,
as well as the way we organise race in our society. This structure shapes what we call "institutional racism."
The first step is to determine how racism is currently defined in professional literature.

Racism is typically related with stereotypes and prejudice. Racism is often regarded as the most horrific kind
of violence a person can commit against someone of a different race. When the word racism is used, blood
rushes through the body, opinions are stated, and white people are frequently wrongfully blamed. Racism is
the view that one race is superior to another, that a person's social and moral attributes are dictated by
inborn features, or that each member of each race possesses characteristics, talents, or qualities that define
it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

Racism or the discrimination of race has been a part of human history for a long time. At its most severe, this
has included genocide, enslavement, and indigenous peoples' colonialism. While we quickly detect and
strongly condemn overt acts of racial hatred today, racism pervades our culture.

Racism comes in many forms, including racism against different religions and races, but the most well-
known kind of prejudice is racism against people of color. And the three most essential causes that
contribute to racism towards people of color are ignorance, fear of loss and displacement, and people's need
to feel superior.

In conclusion, racism is a multifaceted word and action. Our society is riddled with many systematic and
hidden racist tendencies that have yet to be eradicated. Racism survives nowadays mostly through subtle
hidden practices imprinted as a result of numerous systems of socialization Politicians, bureaucrats,
educators, and people in other professions sometimes mistake ethnic diversity for a reduction in racism.
Sadly, numerous diversity programs have failed to reduce prejudice or change racist behavior. As a result, a
more in-depth analysis of the topic of racism and its prevalence is required, particularly for professionals
who work with various communities
