 To be able to create meal plan and menu

What tasks did you participate or assist in? Fill out the table below.

What components or parts were present in the Under these LMS components or parts, what
LMS used by the teacher? tasks did you participate/assist in?
 Video meeting through Meet As I joined the class through Google Meet, my
resource teacher asked me to share the link to
everyone who are part of the class especially my
co-FS observers.
 Classwork indicated as new material or Lesson was posted by the teacher ahead of time.
new assignment So, I downloaded it as my reference in class
discussion so I will be able to follow and even
supplement an insights regarding the topic.
 Stream section for announcement Teacher on that day have posted an
announcement about the schedule of the virtual
class. I was being informed on that so I attended
the class on time and was able to observe and
participate in the discussion.

1. Describe the structure of the LMS utilized by the teacher. How was it organized, what main
components did you find?

Google classroom was the LMS used by the teacher. This LMS is very suitable and intended for
classes online. It is organized through its features wherein subjects that student enrolled in are being
shown, notifications will pop-up on screen when announcements, material and assignments are being
posted. Classwork sections of activities is provided from latest down to earliest post. Then, seen on top
the to-do list including assigned tasks, missing tasks, and done tasks.

2. How was the content taught or delivered? How were the learning activities arranged? What
strategies did the teacher, or you use to help students attain the objectives/outcomes?

The entire discussion was good. It was delivered in a simple yet comprehensive way. However,
students seemed to be not interested in a discussion because teacher is the only one discussing most of
the time. Yet, there is an interaction happened between the students and teacher but the way the
students respond was seemed to be inattentive of the discussion. No activities were done during that
time, so students were not really engaged into it.

3. What was your experience in participating and assisting?

On that time, we were only silent observers. So I didn’t have the chance to participate and assist.
But overall, I do have learned something on that day that is meaningful and useful to my future
undertaking.

ANALYZE

1. What do you think are the best features of the LMS that the teacher used? How did these features
help the students learn the content?

The best feature of the LMS is the video button or the meet where it is used for discussion of the
topic or delivering a lesson. This helps students to virtually see the presentation of the lesson and listen
to the discussion of the teacher. It is an opportunity for them to be taught of something that will benefit
their mind that will make them knowledgeable of the subject matter.

2. How did the teacher/or you use the LMS to implement the strategies/activities planned?

Starting a video meeting through the meet button and present the prepared lesson through
PowerPoint presentation using the share screen tab of the application.

3. How did this connect with what you know about LMS and TPACK?

It connects with what I know about LMS and TPACK due to the advent of technology that dominates
nowadays. In today’s generation, students have been engaged into this kind of software, so it is easy for
me to explore the LMS and assimilate the TPACK.

4. What problems and challenges did the teacher/ you or the students encounter in working with the
LMS? How did it/ they affect the teacher/ learners? What part/s of LMS do you think can still be
improved? How can this/ these can improve?

Internet connectivity is one major problem that is commonly encountered when using LMS. It affects the
discussion that so many considerations and adjustments will be made by teacher while students struggle
to cope up with the lesson and learning will be a challenge. I think there is no part to be improved in the
case of LMS.

REFLECT

1. If I am going to assess myself, I think I am equipped and ready enough in organizing and utilizing
Learning Management System. Through the learnings I have gained from this activity, it helps me to
understand more about the concept of LMS. It is very essential to make our content more accessible and
it would make our life easier.

2. a. Content
 You should have the skills to organize the course information by topic so it would be easy for the
learners to find what they need. You should have the patience because it takes a lot of time and
effort to organize the ideas. Although organizing by topic is a good start, you may wish to
progress to chronological order or self-paced organization in the future.
b. Pedagogical
 As a teacher, you should know how to identify what kind of pedagogical approach you are going
to employ in your LMS aligned with your topic. You should create an environment that
encourages and nurtures knowledge through absorption, facilitation, assimilation,
contextualization, personalizing, and emotionalization. The skill you need to learn is to develop a
feedback look for continual improvement, the instructor must also understand the
programming, information technology, online management, learning theory, changing student
demographics, statistical tools, assessment methodology, and so on.
c. Technological
 Simply create folders for each lesson that contain the content you'll be covering and pick how
many weeks you want to include in each folder. If your classes have a lot of digital content,
having one folder for each class can be a good idea. You'll be able to clearly express to students
where they can obtain the information they need for each lesson, whether you organize by
individual classes or by week. This arrangement also makes it simple for students to go back and
study any classes they like. Find out if your LMS allows you to hide folders so you can regulate
how quickly information is delivered if you don't want your students to be able to jump ahead.
3. Despite I know how to utilize LMS, I still want to know more about its basic and how to make it more
creative and presentable to the learners. I want also to learn more about organizing information so that
students can go at their own pace through each topic or session.

OBSERVE

The biggest problem with LMS`s had to do with the training that was provided to use the system. The
training was broken up into modules, but they were not intuitive. It was difficult to know what to click on
next to progress through the learning experience. An important skill in using the LMS was to be able to
navigate through all the various sections to find what was needed. Another issue was with the
assessment and scoring system. One of the advantages of an LMS is that it can provide metrics as to how
well someone can navigate through the system to find what they are looking for. The problem is that the
metrics available were somewhat limited and did not always provide enough information to make a good
determination.

Bruner (1961) proposes that learners construct their own knowledge and do this by organizing and
categorizing information using a coding system. ... The concept of discovery learning implies that
students construct their own knowledge for themselves (also known as a constructivist approach).

REFLECT

1. Failure to establish clear objectives, determine what you want to achieve. What do you require from a
learning management system (LMS)? Why do you require a learning management system (LMS)? How
will it deal with your online training? Examine the reasons behind your purchase in detail.

2. It's time to acknowledge that poor design and poor user experience are very real causes of
shipwrecks. Why should learners have to put up with something that looks and feels like it was designed
on a PC from the Stone Age? We're constantly surrounded by beautifully designed applications (does the
brand 'Apple' ring any bells?) so why should they have to put up with something that looks and feels like
it was designed on a PC from the Stone Age? When the technology exists to develop such amazing digital
platforms with fantastic user experiences at its core, it's simply not good enough these days.
