NEED FOR THE PROJECT

 A National Institute of Design (NID) is a multidisciplinary institute in the field of design
education and research. Design Education Programmes have earned their place in the
top 25 European & Asian educational programmes in the world.
 NID was instituted at a time when the need for design interventions as an important
catalyst for expanding quality industrial production and enhancing communication was
recognised. It is a recommended problem-solving design consciousness that linked
learning with actual experience and suggested that the designer could be a bridge
between tradition and modernity.
 The general course offered by the NID are: Bachelor of Design (B. Des), Master of Design
(M. Des), Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD), and Post Graduate Diploma
Programme in Design (PGDPD).
 We experience design in every moment that we live. There is not a single element that
is untouched by design. Design is the term we use to describe both the Process and the
Result of giving tangible form to human ideas.
 Design can stimulate developing countries from “Technology- Stagnation.” It is directed
towards employment generation and also plays a vital role in preservation of
enironments.

 Should provide an environment friendly and engaging experience to user.
 Approx. scale of project is around 2 acres (10,000 sqm).

SPECIAL STUDY
 Form Oriented Development.
 Form-based applications range from simple web shops to complex enterprise resource
planning systems. A well-established basic modelling techniques is a novel way to
achieve modelling framework optimized for this broad application domain. The hands-
on practical advice and tools makes this work easier for both researchers in the areas of
software architectures and submit-response style user interfaces, and professionals
designing and developing such applications.

 Site located in Chennai – nearby SRM KTR Campus, Potheri, Kattankulathur. The road
accessible to the site is the Grand Southern Trunk Road.
