CHAPTER IV

SURVEY, PRESENTATION OF RESULTS, ANALYSIS, AND


INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter will analyze the data gathered through survey conducted by
the researcher. The survey, presentation of results, analysis and the
interpretation of the gathered data are also the emphasis of this chapter to
clearly put to its aim of deriving to the study regarding to the Effects of Gadgets
to Grade 10 Students of San Jose Pili National High School.

Figure 1 shows the total number of Grade 10 students of San Jose Pili
National High School that owns gadgets. Accordingly, 93 out of 100 or 93% of
the total respondents answer yes when they asked if they own a gadget. 7 out of
100 or 7% of the total respondent answered no to the question. Given this data,
it could be concluded that significantly a large number of respondents has or
owned a gadget.

WHEREAS:

A. Cellphone
B. Tablet

Figure 2 shows the different kind of gadgets that the respondents owned.
Hence, they were asked to identify what is or what are their owned gadgets.
Consequently, 92 or 99% of those answered that they owned cellphone as their
gadgets.14 or 15% of them stated that they owned tablet. Furthermore, 10 or
11% of the respondents answered that they owned or have a laptop as their
gadget. 3 or 3.22% of them responds that they have a computer as their
gadgets. And none of them answered others. Given this data, majority of the
respondents owned a cellphone instead of tablet, laptop, computer and others.

of these gadgets to students in school.
Figure 3 shows what are the effects of gadgets, then the respondents was
asked to choose how does these said gadgets have effects to them in school.
Accordingly, there are 47 or 51% respondents answered that gadgets supplies
information to them. 25 or 27% of them answered that gadgets become their
stress reliever. 19 or 20.4% of them answered that these gadgets increase their
ability to learn. There are 20 or 22% of the respondents stated that difficulty in
concentrating on studies is the effect of gadgets to students in school. 6 or 6.5%
of them answered that the effect of gadgets to student is poor academic
performance, 7 or 8% of them answered that the effect of gadgets is failing of
low grades, and also, none of them answered others. Hence, it could be
concluded that most of the respondents responded that gadget supplies
information.

This figure shows the different application that respondents usually use.
Accordingly, 53 out of 93 or 57% of the respondents usually uses music in their
gadgets. There are 32 or 34% respondents answered that they usually use
camera, 33 or 35% of them answered that they usually use browser. Also, there
are 22 or 24% answered that they use gallery in their gadgets. There are 36 or
39% respondents uses google, and 37 or 40% of them uses messages.
Interestingly, there are 7 respondents answer to others.

There are 93 respondents who answered yes when asked if they own a
gadget and 44 or 47% of them answered that they consumed 1 to 3 hours in
their gadgets. 24 or 26% of them spend 3 to 5 hours in their gadgets and 16 or
17% of them spend 5 to 8 hours. And lastly, 9 or 10% of them spend 8 hours
and above in their gadgets.
