Exterior Angle Inequality Theorem states that the measure of the exterior angle of a triangle is greater
than the measure of either of its corresponding remote interior angles.
Illustrative Examples: Use the Exterior Angle Inequality Theorem to list all of
the angles that satisfy the stated condition.
a. measures less than m1
b. measures greater than m7
Solution:
a. By Exterior Angle Inequality Theorem, m1 > m3, m1 > m4, m1 > m7, and m1 > m4
+ m6. Thus, the measures of 3, 4, 6, and 7 are all less than m1.
b. By the Exterior Angle Inequality Theorem, m1 > m7 and m3 > m7. Thus, the measures of
1 and 3 are greater than the m7.
