 EDITORIAL SUMMARY
By the end of September this year, Sony had sold 13.4 million PlayStation 5s. Microsoft doesn't
release sales numbers, but an analyst for market intelligence firm Niko Partners estimated that
it has sold around 8 million Series X and S consoles, combined. Both the Wii and the Nintendo
Switch were scarce and therefore hard to buy well into the second year of their lives, but it's
unusual for Xbox and PlayStation. The game Halo:Infinite on the Xbox does not release until the
end of 2021. Horizon: Forbidden West doesn't come out for PlayStation 5 until February 2022.
Aside from exclusives, most new games are still coming out with Xbox One and PlayStation 4
versions at the same time. The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 have completely different styles
to them. The Xbox Series X/S controller is largely unchanged from previous generations.

Both consoles have multiple subscriptions that are required to play online games, and another
to access a library of games to play for "Free." Xbox Series X has Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass
Ultimate, and the PS5 has PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now. Some people consider Xbox
Live Gold the best option, since it has more free games and allows online multiplayer.However,
the Playstation 5 has more exclusive and well-known titles on it’s Playstation Plus.

● 1. The Playstation 5 is sold out more, while the Xbox is constantly
being restocked.
● 2. These 2 new gen consoles have completely different looks to
them.

the new Xbox controller does not have any of these new

and easier expansion options.
● 5. Playstation 5 is more lenient with the Online multiplayer than the
Xbox Series X since not all of the playstation multiplayer games
require playstation plus.
● 6. Xbox game pass may be considered better because of it’s crazy
amount of games on it with over 100+ free games every month, but
Playstation plus has more exclusive titles.
● 7. Xbox Series X is more powerful and faster but the Playstation 5
has more storage for exclusive games.
 (1) Argument
By the end of September this year, Sony had sold 13.4 million
PlayStation 5s while the Xbox series X/S only sold about 8 million
consoles. Stores never have Ps5’s in stock and when they do, it
sells out in a matter seconds, people have to wait to certain time
to even get a chance to get one of these somewhat rare
consoles while the Xbox Series X/S can be found at any
electronic store that sell these type of consoles. Matter fact,
they could even be found in your local target or even walmart
which shows how much more the Ps5 is more limited than the
Xbox Series X/S.This shows how the Xbox Series X is being
restocked more.
 (2) Argument
The Playstation 5 and Xbox series X have completely different
looks to them. While the Xbox series X has a more plain and
modern look, the Ps5 looks more futuristic. The way that the Ps5
looks affects the size and reduces the amount of places where
people can place their Ps5. The Xbox series X can be setup in
much more places due to it’s simple design.
 (3) Argument
The DualSense controller has many new features which the xbox controller
has never had, the Ps5 controller can make the person feel mostly of all the
things that the character is feeling the the pull of a trigger of a gun or rifle
which both feel differently even the track can be felt on a racing game,
Another cool feature is that it could be felt like the person playing was in the
actual game and with all of this said just think about how the Xbox Series X
does not have anything similar to this.
 (3)Counter Argument
The Dualsense controller may have all these features, but
most of the games on the Ps5 don’t make full use of these
features. The controller is basically just a normal controller
if the newly added features aren’t being used in the games.
The xbox controller may not have these new features, but
both controllers are the same in regards to functionality if
the dualsense features aren’t used.
 (4) Argument
The Playstation 5 has more storage than the Xbox series x. While
both consoles are advertised for having a 1 TB, some of the storage
is used from the internal system. However, the amount of storage
the internal system uses is slightly different. The Playstation has
825 GB while the Xbox Series X has 802 GB.
 (4)Counter Argument
The Playstation 5 may have more storage, but the Xbox has more
storage options. The Xbox series x has a external storage that can
be plugged into the back of the xbox. The Playstation 5 needs to be
opened in order to get a new storage placed in it, but the Xbox has
a slot for storage easily accessible in back.

Ps5 games online mode is better and more available to the point where some
of its games don't even need to get a subscription to play online. Ps5 online is
more convenient and has an easy to use interface. Many people that play
online will choose this console over the other Xbox Series X because the ps5
is the most wanted console(selling out as soon as it restocks).
 (5)Counter argument
Sure, it's a hassle to have to pay to play online on any game but it's worth it if
it is thought of, The Series X costs less and is more available than the Ps5
which already make the experience better. In addition both of these consoles
have a similar technology which make the Ps5 worst because why do is cost
so much if it is basically the same cpu and hardware just that with a different
shell which gives it the good look which to be honest is useless, the Xbox is
cheaper and has the Same tech just because online games have to be payed
to play (which is the same situation with the Ps5 just that some are online
free to play) is no disadvantage if all is taken into consideration.
 (6) Argument
Game pass may be very good looking to some people as game pass has “100+”
games and how they just have to pay about $14.99 a month to get access to
online gaming which is what everybody plays these days. Game pass also
gives some rewards that can be redeemed for in game items. Game pass in
overall looks better and could be the better choice. For 14.99, people can get
everything needed for a person to play with friends.
 (6)Counter Argument

Xbox Game Pass may seem like the reasonable decision but looking at the
information about both, Playstation exclusive titles are more known than the
xbox exclusive titles. With games like Spiderman and God of war, playstation
has beaten Xbox exclusives by a lot. In addition, every month the
subscription gives about two or three new games, compared to Xbox game
pass which has over 100 free to play games but does not update the games in
it that often.
 (7) Argument
The Xbox Series X is a more powerful console than the Playstation
5. It has a faster processing speed and provides up to 12 teraflops
of power. Compared to the Ps5 which has 10.28 teraflops of power
and a slightly lower clock speed than the Xbox Series X. The Xbox
clocks at 3.8GHz while the Ps5 clocks at 3.5GHz. In terms of
Power, the Xbox has the upper hand.
 (7) Counter Argument
The Xbox series X is the more powerful console, but the Playstation 5
has more storage for all of its game exclusive titles. The Ps5 still has
the same 8-core CPU and AMD graphics processor as the Xbox Series
X. It can also make use of better storage to its full extent with the
exclusive titles only on Playstation.
 Final Evaluation
This editorial was comparing both the Xbox Series X and the Playstation 5.
The types of games on each console are completely different types of
exclusives. The Playstation 5 has more well-known exclusives and more
famous titles on its Playstation plus Collection. The Xbox series X has more
games in its Game Pass with up to over 100 games. The storage on the
Playstation 5 is better and has more space for its games(825GB). The Xbox
Series X has more Expandable storage options and easily accessible way of
adding it onto the xbox. The Playstation Plus subscription allows Online
multiplayer, but not all of the multiplayer games on playstation require it.
The Xbox LIve Gold is necessary in order to access any multiplayer game. In
terms of power, the Xbox series X probably wins in that aspect. In terms of
games and storage, the Playstation 5 may have the upper hand.
