An impactful winter storm arrives tonight, bringing snow and mixed precipitation into Friday.
Heavy snow looks most likely across eastern portions of Central NY. Snow totals are expected
to be highly dependent on the track of the storm which may cause a wintry mix of sleet and
freezing rain to develop from the Twin Tiers through Northeast PA.
Snowfall rates are forecast to reach around 1 to 1.5” per hour across parts of Central NY,
mainly in the 4 AM to 10 AM Friday time range.
The snow will taper off and end from west to east Friday afternoon
Temperatures will be mainly in the 20s through the event; rising into the low to mid-30s
Friday afternoon across the Twin Tiers and Northeast PA
Northeast winds 8-15 mph with some gusts around 20 mph tonight – Friday
