In order to investigate the effects of dietary hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate (HSCAS)
on broiler performance, a feeding trial was conducted with a total of 200 broiler chicks. The broiler
chicks were assigned to 5 treatments. Each treatment had 10 chicks with 4 replications. The supple-
mentation levels of HSCAS in the experimental diets were 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.5%. Average body
weight gain (BWG) of chicks fed dietary HSCAS significantly (p<.05) increased compare with that of
control during overall periods. The BWG of C and D treatment which were fed 0.3 and 0.5% of
HSCAS slightly increased by 3.4 to 3.8% compared to the control.
Average feed intake of chicks fed dietary HSCAS significantly (p<.05) decreased compared with the
control (4,056 g vs 3,942 g). But within HSCAS treatments the feed intakes not found significant
different. Also, the feed conversion of chicks fed dietary HSCAS was significantly (p<.01) improved
compared with the control (2.04 vs 1.9/2). Especially, the feed conversion of D treatment which fed
0.5% of HSCAS, was improved by 8% compared with the control. In conclusion, dietary HSCAS
affected the body performance of broiler chicks. The D treatment which was fed 0.5% HSCAS
showed the highest body performance among the treatments.
