Parking Lot Etiquette
It has been brought to my attention that several issues are coming up within our parking lot at the school. We
want to make sure everyone stays safe while using our parking lot and are hoping each family can read this
letter to remind themselves of the rules and etiquette’s of using our parking lot. This is a parking lot used by
everyone and it will take everyone’s cooperation to ensure students are SAFE.
1) Watch your speed - You should be driving no faster than 10km/hour in our parking lot.
2) Stay out of the bus lane – MANY kids run into the bus lane without thinking twice about an oncoming
car. Our bus drivers also need all the space they can get. We also never know if a field trip is happening,
so just because you use it outside of drop off or pick up times DOES NOT mean a bus is not using it.
3) The roundabout is for a quick jump in/out – The wait/traffic to get in the roundabout is DANGEROUS.
People are parking in here and getting out with their kids. Other kids jumping out and leaving/jumping in
are at risk of getting hit. We have had to block off the roundabout at pick up time and may have to block
it off at drop off time as well.
We want to make sure that everyone is safe. We understand that sometimes dropping off and picking up our
students can be stressful. Please follow these rules and etiquettes so drivers can stay calm in our parking lots
and students and children stay SAFE!
Thank you for your cooperation.
