INTRODUCTION
KRIBHCO has setup a Fertilizer Complex to manufacture Urea, Ammonia
& Bio-fertilizers at Hazira in the State of Gujarat, on the bank of river
Tapti, 15 Kms from Surat city on Surat – Hazira State Highway.

Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India laid the
Foundation Stone on February 5, 1982.

Hazira Fertiliser Complex has 2 Streams of Ammonia Plant and 4 Streams

of Urea Plant. Annual re-assessed capacity for Urea and Ammonia is 1.729
million MT and 1.003 million MT resepctively, the total Project cost was Rs.
890 crores as against the estimated cost of Rs. 957 crores. This shows a
saving of Rs. 67 crores (approximately 7%) in Capital Cost of the Project.

The trial production commenced from November, 1985 and within a very
short time of 3 months, the commercial production commenced from March
01, 1986. Since then, it has excelled in performance in all areas of its
operations.

Biofertilizer plant of 100 MT per year capacity was commissioned at Hazira

in August, 1995. KRIBHCO has also completed the installation of an
expansion of the Bio-Fertiliser plant with an additional capacity of 150 MT
and the same was commissioned in December, 1998.

Ten Seed Processing Plants are also in operation in various states

Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited

Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited' (KRIBHCO) is an Indian
cooperative society, that manufactures fertilizer, mainly urea. It registered
under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act in 1985, and was promoted
by the Government of India, and some agricultural co-operative societies
spread all over the country. It main plant is located in Surat, Gujarat.

Oil & gas findings in Bombay High and South Basin triggered the birth of
eight new generation fertilizer plants to fulfill the ever-growing food needs
of the country. KRIBHCO was among the first two projects in the first
phase.

KRIBHCO manufactures urea, ammonia Argon & bio-fertilizers at Hazira in

the State of Gujarat, on the bank of the Tapti River near Kawas village,
15 km from Surat and 20 km from the Surat Railway Station, on the Surat-
Hazira State Highway.

Production of Biofertilizer plant[1] commenced plant of 100 MT per year

capacity was commissioned at Hazira in 1995. An additional capacity of 150
MT was added to that plant in 1998. Subsequently, two more Bio-fertilizer
plants, each of 100 MT capacity, were installed at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
and Lanja, Maharashtra in 2003 and 2004 respectively.

Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav has been chairman of KRIBHCO since 1996
under his leadership KRIBHCO achieved the turnover of Rs. 2400 crore in
the financial year 2007-08. Sh. Vaghjibhai Rugnathbhai Patel took charge as
Chairman of KRIBHCO and Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav is acting as Vice-
Chairman at present. In 2009 deepak shewaramani became a president of
this company

COMPUTERIZATION OF THE SOCIETY

The Society has computerized its operations at Head Office,

Central Marketing Office, Plant, State Marketing Offices
and Area Offices using the Relational Data Base
Management System under Client/Server Technology.

Applications at Head office, Central Marketing offices,

State Marketing Offices and Area Offices cover
Inventory Management, Financial Accounting and Payroll
applications. Besides this a Provident Fund Management
System covering all employees of KRIBHCO is in
operation.

At Plant we have an integrated system comprising of

Financial Accounting, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Purchase,
Store, Production, Maintenance, Transportation, Personnel
& Administration and MIS.

In order to take care of the menace of virus , a

comprehensive suite of anti virus, asset management and
remote maintenance has been implemented auto-update on
a daily basis.

A state of the art website of the Society has been developed

in-house which is constantly updated.

A comprehensive Management Information System has

been developed and implemented in the Society.

E-mail, Intranet and Internet have been provided to

the employees for efficient functioning. For a faster
Internet a leased line with radio link has been taken.
Video conferencing facility is also available.

All the Area Offices have been provided computers for

office work.

Training in computer use has been an ongoing process and

regular training programmes are conducted to impart
 training to the employees.

Human Resources Development is a process by which employees

of the organization are continuously helped in a planned manner
to acquire capabilities, knowledge, perspective attitude, values,
skills, develop their general individual capabilities and to develop
organization culture as a whole.
HRD Department has been conducting various programmes to
develop and update skills of the employees at all the levels briefly
