A. Course Description This course presents a comprehensive survey of the tourist destination in the world. Major discussions will be on international
documentation, visa requirements, health and safety issues, geographical characteristics, access routes, major attractions,
gastronomy and distinctive cultural attributes of major tourist destination countries, international organizations relating to tourism and
their major functions.
B. Course Objectives At the end of the semester, the student will be able to:
Knowledge Analyzes situation, identifies problems, formulate solutions and implements corrective and/or mitigating measures and action.
Skills/Abilities Undertakes task, functions, duties and activities in the operation of the hotels, restaurants, travel, government and non-government
agencies in accordance with the competency standards.
Values/ Attitudes Performs work activities, effectively and efficiently to the standards expected in the operation required in the tourism
Industry/hospitality sectors.

H. Classroom Policies 1. Attendance
Class attendance during our assigned schedule is expected. If you are unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control,
please submit an excuse letter signed by your parent/guardian, duly noted by your Dean. You are expected to come to class on time.
Two “lates” equal one absence.
2. Assignments
Assignments are given you the opportunity to apply practice the exercises taken up in class. Take every effort to do the assignment
yourself even if you discuss your completed assignment with your classmates. Assignments submitted late will not be counted.
3. Class Participation
By participating in class discussions, you are able to ask questions, clarify certain concepts you read from books, or share your views
on certain issues. It helps you overcome “stage fright” and builds self-confidence. You are expected to recite at least five (5) times
within the semester.
4. Quizzes, chapter Tests and Long Examinations
Quizzes may be announced or unannounced, so you are expected to prepare for every meeting. There will be a chapter test at the end
of each chapter or, if the chapter is long, the class may opt to take a mid-chapter test. Long examinations cover the mid-term and final
examinations.
5. Student Conduct
You are expected to follow the code of honor in taking examinations. Cheating in whatever form is absolutely not allowed and violators
