His achievements that I chose are: first, in foreign policy and national defense that should not

be largely ignored. When the Philippines won an arbitration case against China over disputed
areas in the West Philippine Sea, it was credited to him. The economy continued to enlarge
itself and perform spectacularly thanks largely to his economic liberalization policies and his
non-stop attempts to encourage foreign investors to do business in the country. It was only
during his administration when the only time the Philippines lent money to the debt-ridden
European Union countries and that itself is no small feat; probably not even Ferdinand Marcos
is capable of doing such a thing.
