Applications of Bioinformatics
Example 1

IPAB is an initiative to provide researchers and industrialists a common platform for

examining the performance of identifying lead compounds in bioinformatics using
experimental methods. For example, in 2015, IPAB conducted a contest to screen lead
molecules for a particular drug target such as cYes kinase, which play an important role
in colorectal cancer.

Example 2

Databases contain number of small molecules, which can be screened for their drug
activity using bioinformatics approaches.
Knowledge based analysis

From the experimentally known information one can predict the category of the test case.
