Automatic test of the master instrument

• Switch on the ignition (only when the vehicle or unit is ready for operation!)
• All display-segments of the display panel are activated
• Sensors are tested
• A sensor error message is displayed for three seconds if available
• MFA is ready for operation

Sensor error display

Sensor errors (e.g. short circuits, broken mains) are displayed as follows :
• The corresponding LED lights up
• A unit symbol appears on the display panel
• After the automatic test is complete, sensor errors are displayed as ‘’----‘’.

Sensor errors
Display Pin Classification
SenS 1 12 Oil temperature transmission
SenS 2 25 Fuel level
SenS 3 11 Engine temperature
SenS 4 24 Oil pressure transmission
SenS 5 10 Air pressure brake system ( II )
SenS 6 23 Oil pressure engine
SenS 7 09 Air pressure brake system ( I )

Function call up
• Press a checkbutton ( for example tank contents)
• The corresponding value is shown on the display panel
• The red LED of the called-up checkbutton lights up

Note : At temperatures below 0 ºC (oil, cooling water) only the value of ’0 ºC’ will be shown.

When none of the functions are called up the running hours are shown. With an optional
speedometer the driving kilometres are shown. The running hours are shown always with the
ignition off.
Confirming warnings points
If a detected value exceeds or falls short of standard :
• The high or low values blinks on the display.
• The red LED of the corresponding key blinks
• A buzzer is activated.
• Press the corresponding key to confirm the warning.
CAUTION :Some warning points can not be disengaged, the
vehicle has to be switched off.

High priority warnings are permanently displayed and must be confirmed before the next
warning can be displayed.

Note :
⇒ If more than one warning point is activated simultaneously, each will be displayed one after
the other at three-second intervals
⇒ High priority warnings are permanently displayed and must be confirmed before the next
warning can be displayed.
⇒ The warning is removed when the high or low value returns to its normal position.

5L CHECKBUTTON ENGINE OIL PRESSURE

When the engine oil pressure is to low the warning LED on the master
instrument (5L) will blink up and a buzzer is activated. When the oil
pressure reaches a lower level the warning LED still blinks and the
buzzer is permanently activated and can not be disengaged. When the
engine oil pressure rises again the buzzer and the warning LED should
extinguish. By pushing the checkbutton while the engine is running you
can see the actual engine oil pressure.
If the buzzer is activated permanently immediately stop engine and
check for leaks and the correct oil level.

5M CHECKBUTTON TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE

(OPTIONAL)
When the transmission oil pressure falls and the pressure is too low the
corresponding warning LED will blink and a buzzer is activated. When the
transmission oil pressure still falls the warning LED is still blinking and the
buzzer is permanently activated. By pushing the checkbutton while the
engine is running you can see the actual transmission oil pressure.
If the buzzer is activated permanently immediately stop engine and
check for leaks and the correct oil level.

5N CHECKBUTTON TRANSMISSION OIL

TEMPERATURE
If the gearbox temperature raises too high, the warning LED (5n) blinks
and the buzzer is activated. If the temperature still rises the corresponding
warning LED will blink and the buzzer is permanently activated. When the
temperature falls the warning LED should extinguish. By pushing the
checkbutton while the engine is running you can see the actual
transmission oil temperature.
If the buzzer is activated, slow down and let the transmission cool down.
5O CHECKBUTTON ENGINE COOLANT
TEMPERATURE
When the engine coolant temperature rises the red warning LED will blink
and the buzzer is activated. When the temperature still rises the warning
LED will still blink and the buzzer is permanently activated until the
temperature falls below the critical value.
By pushing the checkbutton while the engine is running you can see the
actual engine coolant temperature.

If the buzzer is activated permanently you have to stop the vehicle

immediately. Check the coolant level in the expansion tank and
check the cooling system.

! WARNING !
Never open the radiator cap when the cooling system is hot !

5P CHECKBUTTON BRAKE CIRCUIT 1 FRONT

By pushing the checkbutton the actual air pressure in the compressed air
system reservoirs for the front wheels is displayed. When the air pressure
falls the red warning LED will blink and the buzzer is activated. When the
pressure still falls the buzzer is activated permanently and the vehicle must
be stopped until the air pressure rises and the buzzer is de-activated.

5Q CHECKBUTTON FUEL LEVEL

Pushing the checkbutton of the fuel level, the master instrument shows
the actual fuel contents. When there remains 20 litre fuel the red warning
LED will blink. By pushing the checkbutton you confirm the warning and
the warning LED will extinguish. When there remains 10 litre fuel the red
warning LED will blink and the buzzer is activated. The buzzer is
activated until the tank is refilled.

5R CHECKBUTTON BATTERY VOLTAGE

When the battery voltage falls the warning LED will blink and the buzzer
is activated. When the battery voltage rises the warning LED will
extinguish.

5S CHECKBUTTON BRAKE CIRCUIT 2 REAR

By pushing the checkbutton the actual air pressure in the compressed air
system reservoirs for the rear wheels is displayed.
When the air pressure falls the red warning LED will blink and the buzzer is
activated. When the pressure still falls the buzzer is activated permanently
and the vehicle must be stopped until the air pressure rises and the buzzer
is de-activated.
