2 RESEARCH PROJECT PROPOSAL

2.1 TITLE OF RESEARCH PROJECT
In this section, you must: clearly state the focus of the intended investigation in the form of a succinct and
descriptive title.

2.2 PROPOSAL INTRODUCTION/RATIONALE

In this section, you must provide a succinct description of what you intend to do, why it is important to the
project management discipline, what you hope to achieve, and how it will benefit project management
practice and your own career aspirations. (500 Words)

2.3 RESEARCH QUESTION/OBJECTIVES

In this section, you must stipulate a specific exploratory question that will be addressed throughout the
work or a substantive prediction that will be tested during the analysis. You should also establish initial
project objectives which relate to theory and practice and provide a route map of what you intend to do.

2.4 INTRODUCTORY LITERATURE REVIEW
In this section, you should demonstrate your initial reading around the topic of your investigation from a
range of sources and identify and critically evaluate the key theories underpinning the intended
investigation. (500 Words)

2.5 PROPOSED METHODOLOGY

In this section, you must outline your proposed methodology, e.g. is it to be posivitist, interpretivist or
mixed/pragmatic? How you plan gather your data (your method(s)). Who you plan to use for your data
collection if you aim to gather primary data (your sample) and how you will ensure the research is carried
out in an ethical manner. (500 Words)

2.6 REFERENCES
In this section, you must: include the sources cited in the submission; and be fully referenced in
accordance with the Cite Them Right version of the Harvard referencing system.

2.7 RESEARCH PROJECT PLAN

For this section, you must produce a Gantt Chart, to fit on one page of A4, which addresses the tasks of
planning and conducting your proposed research project. It should present a clear sense of direction for
your proposed project, and to support you in organizing, planning, and monitoring your project. Key
activities and milestone events must be highlighted in your Gantt Chart.
