Topic: Use Adverbs in Narration.

Program Standard: The learner demonstrates communicative competence through his/


her understanding of literature and other texts types for a deeper appreciation of
Philippine Culture and those of other countries

Grade Level Standard The learner demonstrates communicative competence through


his/her understanding of British-American Literature, including Philippine Literature and
other text types for a deeper appreciation of Philippine Culture and those of other
countries.

Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American


literature and other text types serve as means of valuing other people; also how to use
processing information strategies, different forms of adverbs and conditionals for
him/her to play an active part in a Chamber Theatre presentation

Performance Standard The learner proficiently plays an active part in a Chamber


Theatre presentation through employing effective verbal and non- verbal strategies
based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice, Delivery, Facial Expressions, Style and
Body Movements or Gestures.

Specific Objectives:

At the end of this discussion the students should be able to:


• Define what is an adverb
• Differentiate the different kinds of adverbs according to its use.
• Identify the adverbs used in the selection
Methodology

A. Classroom Routine

• The teacher will send the Google Meet link and wait until students have
entered the platform
• The teacher will call a student to lead the prayer
• The teacher will record the attendance

B. Recall
• The teacher will give a recall session regarding the lesson that they
have discussed

C. Motivation

• The teacher will ask the students to tell them a story about their favorite
memory with their loved ones.
• The teacher will ask the student to identify the describing words used
upon narrating the story.
• After identifying the words used, the teacher will relate it to the topic that
will be discussed.

D. Teaching Sequence

• The teacher will discuss what an adverb is and will give the different types
of adverbs.

➢ Adverb of Affirmation and Negation
➢ Adverb of Number

• The Teacher will introduce the story ‘A Dark Brown Dog’ by Stephen
Crane and will let the students read the selection.

Post Reading Activity:

• After reading the selection, the teacher will send a pollev link and students
are to follow the instruction based from the activity.
