● One stop border post (OSBP) refers to the legal and institutional structure, facilities,
and processes that allow products, people, and vehicles to check in a single facility and
undertake necessary controls in accordance with applicable regional and national laws
in order to exit one state and enter another.

Importances of OSBP
● Physical access to the market was improved, allowing commodities, people, and
services to move more quickly.
● Time is saved,OSBP cuts down on travel time and makes interregional and international
transportation and road travel easier.
● Improve the business environment: Border trade procedures for document processing
have been reduced.
● Increased corporate competitiveness, which has a monetary consequence.
● Logistic Cost. OSBP facilitates and pulls down border costs which is seen as positive.

Customs declaration. Is an official document that lists and gives details of goods being
imported or exported.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED DURING DECLARATION.

1. Certificate of Origin
2. Commercial invoice
3. Bill of Lading
4. Packing list
5. Import declaration form
6. Import license.

Procedures for importing goods in rwanda.

Obtain notice of arrival of goods.
Submit goods arrival notice for verification by RSB.
Obtain manifest
Submit import document to clearing agent for tax calculation.
Pay import tax
Obtain an invoice for warehousing handling.
Pay warehousing fees for goods handling
Finally Obtain good EXIT NOTE
