SUMMARY (seven [7] sentences MAX)

It has been decades since our National Hero, Jose Rizal was shot.
There have been curious minds that did a research on the true reason
of Jose Rizal’s death. An interesting article by Reynaldo C. Ileto, shared
his perspective about Rizal’s death. Quoted from different authors like
RlZAL AND THE Coates. For example, on 30 December 1882, Rizal had a frightful
UNDERSIDE OF nightmare, duly entered into his diary, about his death. Thirteen years
PHILIPPINE HISTORY later, on exactly the date of his dream, he was executed. The article is
also trying to give a different view on Rizal’s death. This is all about
belief and faith. In the article it is also said that there are group of
people in Laguna that are worshipping Rizal as a prophet like figure.
This glimpse of the popular image of Rizal in central Luzon leads us to
believe that the situation in southern Tagalog was even more intense.
Miracle stories of the type that Santos, another writer, collected must
have already been forming by 1892. January 1890: "Christ did the same
with the religion of his country when the Pharisees so exceedingly
abused it.”

How does this develop and/or promote nationalism to you?

Jose Rizal is commonly known as the “Father of Filipino Nationalism”

and the First Filipino”, not because he helped establish an independent
Philippine state (in fact, he specifically and explicitly denounced the
1896 Revolution against Spain), but because he was instrumental in the
creation of the conceptualization of being nationalist.

Did Rizal demonstrate popular nationalism through his works?

Justify your answer.

Dr. Jose Rizal is both a Nationalist and Patriotism. Why? He is an

advocate for great reforms during Spanish era that shows his love for
our country, the Philippines. He is an author of a book that has shown
his principles that up to day, people are still learning from it. It shows
love for our country because he desires unity for his country without any
violent actions or any revolution act towards people who are making
themselves as a superior to Filipinos but uses his knowledge and
virtues by writing novels. He emphasized the importance of the Tagalog
language and that language will not be a basis to know their status in
life. But at the end of it, Dr. Rizal just wants our country to be one and
to let us be proud of being Filipinos because we will be proud as
Filipinos.
How will the study of our national history affect your actions in the
present?

 History helps us develop a better understanding of the world.

We can’t build a framework on which to base your life without
understanding how things work in the world. History paints us a detailed
picture of how society, technology, and government worked way back
when so that we can better understand how it works now. It also helps
us determine how to approach the future, as it allows us to learn from
our past mistakes (and triumphs) as a society.

 History helps us understand ourselves.

To understand who you are, you need to develop a sense of self. A large part
of that is learning where you fit into the story of your country or the global
community in the grand scheme of things. History tells you the story of how
your nation, city, or community came to be everything that it is.

History is just plain interesting. Everything you like about your favorite
movies, television shows, and fiction novels is yours to experience right
here in reality when you study history. Explore the possibilities today
and step into a whole new world that will change who you are forever.
