2. Aim of the Experiment


To design a single-phase full wave converter with purely resistive (R) load.

3. Objective of the Experiment


1. To analyse the working of full converter purely resistive (R) load.

2. To obtain the waveform for converter circuit for different firing angles:
o α = 400
o α = 900
o α = 1200

3. To obtain the average value of output dc voltage and output dc current.

3. R Load (R=100Ω)

5. Ammeter – Current Probe
6. Voltmeter – Voltage Probe (between two nodes)

7. Comparison of observed and calculated values


AC Supply Voltage (peak value), Vin= 230* √ (2) = 325V
Frequency, F=50Hz
R-Load=100Ω
Average values of FWCR Output Voltage and output current with R-Load is obtained as follows:

Calculation for firing angle, (only for α=400)

8. Conclusion

• Design of a single-phase full converter with pure resistive load using PSIM Simulink was successfully
carried out.
• The input output waveforms for different firing angles have been successfully obtained by simulation.
