The research question is valid because it explores the impact of a widespread contagious
disease, in this case, the Covid-19 Pandemic, on the access to quality and timely healthcare
in Kenya over the last 10 months. Covid 19 is the most recent contagious disease, and it has
affected everyone across the world. With this in mind, it would be relevant to explore how it
has affected the healthcare industry of a developing country such as Kenya. The research
question will investigate how the quality of healthcare in the country has been affected, by
looking at factors such as the doctor to patient ratio, bed capacity of hospitals, availability of
resources and wait times.

which is the contagious disease, on Kenya as a whole. Further investigation into the
difference in waiting times between public and private hospitals due to Covid-19 helps us
understand the effect of economic inequality on the quality of healthcare and treatment
received.
