EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM TRAINING (2 DAYS)

1. INTRODUCTION

Emergency situations can be fire, chemical spill, toxic release, flood,


earthquake and etc. Costs related to emergencies can significantly impact an
organization’s financial health. A significant amount of money has been lost in
many parts of the world due to the effects of emergencies. Apart from reducing
spending on emergencies, an effective response to any types of emergencies
will also result in fewer and less severe injuries or illnesses or damages to
properties.

Emergencies have to be managed. A well established and implemented


emergency management program always helps in reducing injuries, ill-health
and damage to properties. In the long run, it has the capability to enhance the
overall health and safety performance and also the business continuity of the
organization.

This training has been specially designed to deal with the specific issues of
emergency management in an organization and to take the necessary
approaches to establish, implement and maintain it in line with the ISO
45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standard and also Business Continuity
Management.

The participants will be also exposed to the method to manage organization’s


emergency response teams and some individual skills to face emergency
situations.

2. MAIN OBJECTIVES

 To be able to identify potential emergency situations


 To be able to identify possible measures and controls against emergency
situations
 To be able to design effective emergency preparedness and response
initiatives in the organization
 To create awareness for individual skills in facing emergency situations

3. TARGET PARTICIPANTS

The target groups for this program are Managers / Executives / Non-
Executives. This training program is recommended for Safety and Health
Officers (SHO), Emergency Response Team (ERT) members, BCM planners
and implementers, safety and health committee members and other categories
of safety, health and environmental management professionals.

4. METHODOLOGY

This training program uses adult learning methods such as lectures, group
discussion, Power Point presentations and games. Participants will spend half
of the time in individual or group activities that allow them to become familiar
with the essential skills for establishing, implementing and maintaining
emergency management program in an organization and for developing
individual skills to face emergencies. The trainer will share his knowledge and
actual experience and will draw real examples from the actual industry setting
to reinforce learning.
