Complete Works of Voltaire (9 volumes), Lives of The
Presidents Of The United States From Washington to
Johnsons, and the list goes on.

➢ Well, when we watch movies or reading fictions or non, I am

certain that we have a specific favorites. As well to Rizal,
well he has, which are the Uncle Tom’s Cabin and The Wandering
Jew.

➢ He was deeply affected by this books, well i gues since the story was
kind of a similiar state of his country, the Philippines.

➢ During his first summer vacation in Madrid, Rizal THEN

went to Paris.

➢ At first he was billeted at the Hotel de Paris, billeted means

was way cheaper than there to live.

➢ Rizal was charmingly titillated by the attractive sights of

Paris. He Visited the beautiful boulevards, the Opera House,
Place de la Concorde, Madeleine Church, The Cathedral of
Notre Dame, Versailles, Louvre, botanical gardens, and
Luxembourg.

➢ While having his time touring around, Rizal was mistakenly

thought as a Japanese by the locals. Sanaol.

against the Friars in the Philippines, he intended to utilize
Freemasonry as his shield to combat them .

His only masonic writing was a lecture entitled Science, Virtue and Labor which he delivered in
1889

➢ Next is, RIzal is facing Financial Worries.

➢ Because of drought and locusts, the harvest of rice and

sugarcane failed in Calamba. The manager of the
Dominican-owned hacienda increased the rentals of the
lands that were cultivated by the Rizal family.

➢ Due to this, the monthly allowances of Rizal in Madrid were

late in arrival and there were times when they never arrived.

➢ Because Rizal was broke, he was unable to eat his meals.

He attended his class with an empty stomach.

➢ What’s amusing and interesitng here is that rizal even

sponsored by the Filipino community to celebrate the
double victory of the Filipino artist in the National
Exposition of Fine Arts in Madrid – Luna’s Spoliarium
winning first prize and Hidalgo’s Christian Virgins Exposed

geographical frontiers and racial origins, for genius is
universal.
