Content Standards: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the underlying principles in measurements
and calculations in line with job requirements.
Performance Standards: The learners shall be able to perform mensuration and calculation in line with job
requirements.
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Determine the resistance value of resistor through color coding
b. Calculate the resistance value of resistor through color coding
c. Appreciate the color coding to calculate the resistance value of resistor

Checking of Attendance
Class, the module that you will pass will be my basis of your Yes sir/No sir.
attendance. If I didn’t receive your module and answer sheet,
it means that you are absent. Do you understand?
What is our topic last time all about? It’s all about Prepare Hand Tools
Who can give one hand tools under Driving tools, Soldering tools, Screwdrivers, Soldering Iron, Long
Splicing tools, Boring tools, Cutting tools, Auxiliary tools? Nose, Portable Electric Drill,
Hacksaw, Magnifying Glass
B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
Motivation
Guessing the picture through scramble word.
Who among you here have already seen this? Random students who have seen on
the actual or in the picture raising their
hands
S O T R I S E R
What do you think is the name on the picture? RESISTOR Ok very good,
What do you observe in the body of resistor? Sir, we observe that in the body of the
resistor it has colorful stripes.
Yes, actually the different colors that you have seen is not the
decoration of resistor, but it is a color code that represents the Thank you sir.
resistance value of resistors that will be used in the different
electronic circuit. And that is our topic for today. The resistor
color coding chart
C. LESSON PROPER
ACTIVITY
Before we proceed I will present to you first our three Objectives:
First you should be able to Determine the resistance value of
resistor through color coding. Second, Calculate the resistance
value of resistor through color coding. Third, Appreciate the color
coding to calculate the resistance value of resistor.
At this time we will have our activity (Individual Activity).
Labeling: I want you to draw and label those words on its proper
Resistor Color Coding Band. Multiplier, Tolerance, 2nd band,
1st band. I will check your work after the date of retrieval of the
answer sheets. Am I clear? Yes Sir!
ANALYSIS
Now, try to look your answers.
Now we are going to check your paper if you Label those words
on its proper place correctly.
How did you label those words on its proper place? By analyzing and visualizing sir!
Why is it important to label those words on its proper place? So that we can easily determine what
we are going to measure and calculate

AND CALCULATION) Resistor Color Coding Band.
APPLICATION
Write and solve the value of the resistance based on the resistor
given on the Resistor Tabulation Table. Write your answers on a
yellow pad. Do you follow class? Yes sir!

2.
GENERALIZATION
How do you get the resistance value of the Resistor? Determine first the color coding and
its value using the chart band (refer to
modules) so that you can proceed to
the calculation to get the desired over-
all value.
IV. EVALUATION
Directions: Multiple Choice. Choose the best answer. Write the letter only
1. What is the value of a resistor with the following colors:
Green - Black- orange - Gold?
A) 500 Ohms ± 5% C) 5K Ohms ± 5%
B) 50K ohms ± 5% D) 500 K Ohms ± 5%
2. What is the color of the tolerance representing ± 5%?
A) Gold C) Orange
B) Black D) Silver
3. 5 in the second band of the resistor color coding means
A) Brown C) Red
B) Green D) Yellow
4. Which component oppose the flow of current in an electrical circuit?
A) Capacitor C) Resistor
B) B) Inductor D) Transistor
5. What is the value of a resistor with the following colors : Green - Black- black - Gold?

VI. REMARKS
On the motivation, a picture is given on printed form with scramble word and a color coding
chart is presented (refer to modules). The students will answer on a separate sheet.
On the Activity, students will be given the activity individually. If they have difficulty doing the
activity, they can ask assistance on the adults in their homes or they can directly ask me through
chats on the messenger, mobile text or calls.
On the abstraction, if students cannot understand what they read, they can directly contact the
teacher via messenger, calls and text and ask their questions. The teacher also will send the soft
copy of modules in the GC of each section if the students want to have clear text or pictures.
On application, students will do the activity on a yellow pad. They can scan their readings on the
module for the assistance on how to determine the color coding value and to solve the resistor.
They can also contact me if they have any questions or a face to face home visitation (if needed)
with minimum safety requirements.
On the evaluation the pupils/students will answer the 1-5 item Multiple Choice test on a separate
sheet of paper.
