Preparation:
How will I pre-assess what the students already know? How will I activate the students’ prior knowledge?

I will start by asking students what their transition moment in life that they can’t forget? I will ask student to
draw at their seat and share it with someone next to them.
I will also ask students to use their favorite colors to draw this.

How will I build background knowledge of the subject?

I will start by asking them:

What their drawing is about?
what colors did they use the most on their drawing? And why?
Who are in their drawing?
Where is it located?

How will I ‘hook’ the students’ attention?

I will start out by reading them a book called “A New Home”

I will question students about the main character from the book about what they had learned?
What are their thoughts about the transition that the main character went through?
After reading the book, I will also share with students about the big transition moments that I went through
in my life and the colors that I picked to drew with.

How will I assess the students’ learning? How do you know they learned the objective?

During a circle group discussion, I will ask for volunteers to share their drawing and lists of colors.
I will ask the reason behind their drawing and why that student chose those colors in their drawing.
I will also ask others student to share what they think or had anyone else drawn the same things? (Even had
choices of colors?)

What will I do if they didn’t learn the objective? How will I reteach?
What will I do if the students already know the content? How will I extend the lesson?

If students’ expertise in their drawing, I will extend to the next question about anything that they would like
to be changed or different about that moment?
How will I accommodate for special needs? Consider students who need additional support and students that
need additional challenge.

I will have a small group with students that need helps.

I will also partner up with student who is exceeding with their drawing.
For IEP students will get the chance to be with Para who can help them step by step. (Either with drawing or
helping them with gripping their color pencils and holding their paper.)

How will students interact with others? (e.g., student-to-student, student-to-teacher, student participation)

Every student will get the chance to share with someone next to them.
During circle group, they will get to share their drawing with others
Allow students to give feedbacks from each other’s drawing.
