(1) LAW

Example #1. Eric was driving safely in the road but the police caught that he doesn't have a valid
professional and non professional license.

Example #2. A husband has an obligation to his wife. The husband and the wife are obliged to live
together, observe mutual love, respect and fidelity, and render mutual help and support but the wife
caught his husband whose having an affair.

(2) CONTRACTS

Example #1. A contract of sale between a buyer and a seller.

Example #2. The apartment owner has a contractual obligation to repay your money back under the
stipulation of your renter's agreement to the old apartment.

(3) QUASI-CONTRACTS

Example #1. Ana owed you Php1,000. By mistake, Ana paid you Php2,000. So now you have the
obligation to return the excess payment because there was a mistake in the payment.

Example #2. You pay for a pizza to be delivered. But the pizza is delivered to another house, and
someone else enjoys your special food. Now, the pizzeria could be court ordered to reimburse you for
the amount you paid for that food.

(4) ACTS OR OMISSIONS PUNISHABLE BY LAW

Example #1. Under the Revised Penal Code murder and theft are prohibited. If you commit any of them,
you will have the obligation to pay damages and fines or be put in jail.

Example #2. The uncle of the child abandon his niece who is under seven years of age, the custody of
which is obligatory upon him. The life of the minor child has been in danger.

(5) QUASI-DELICTS

Example #1. You broke the car window of your neighbor while playing basketball. In this case, you now
has the obligation to pay the damage caused to your neighbor due to your act.

Example #2. The boy is crossing not on the pedestrian lane of the street. In other word, he is jaywalking.
And then, suddenly a vehicle driven by Juan bumps him. The bumping causes injuries on Pedro.
