Testing Process

1. Program testing with data


Before publishing the website, we will conduct a program testing on each of the individual
function buttons on the website. First we will ensure all the product images that show to the
customers on the website are correct and high quality. On the store page, we also ensure the
hyperlink below each of the product images are able to link to its own product detail page and we
also make sure all the add to cart buttons can function. In order to let users find the product
easily, at the top right we have a filter tag, we will also test on this filter and make sure it can
function well. Besides, we also make sure every button inside the tabbed menu can be linked to
related pages. For example, the button of Our Story, Our Store and Contact Us can be linked
directly to their related page when the users click on it.
2. Link testing with test data
Testing on register
First the user needs to key in their personal information such as name, email and password. After
key in all the personal information click the the button call register, the user account will create
and will record and update to the database. Then, it will show the result of you successfully
registering as a member.
Testing on login
Users fill in the username and password, next clicking the login button. It will connect to the
database and show users successfully log into the The Secret Garden website.
Shopping cart
After the user adds products to cart from the home page or adds product to cart in multiple
quantities from the single product page, all this product and product detail such as item picture ,
name, quantity, price, total price will show in the My Cart page.
The users are also able to delete or add the product on this page. After that, users are required to
fill in their shipping details such as name, phone and address.
Next, if the user already has billing details, it will be displayed or else the user will be prompted
to choose the payment way and enter billing details like name on card, card number, expiration
date and CCV number. After, fill in all the shipping details and payment details then, click on the
button called ‘DONE’ then the user order will be placed. Moreover , users can check all the
orders from the website.
Feedback form and contact us
To drop down some feedback, users are required to fill in some personal information such as
username, phone number, email, feedback type and comment. After clicking the submit button,
the comment will be updated and recorded in the database.

Every page of the The Secret Garden website has a search tab for users to search for the
information they need easily. Users just need to type in the words they want to search for before
clicking the search button. Then, it will connect to the database and show the results that users
are looking for.

Conversion strategy
The Secret Garden chose to use pilot conversion strategy. The pilot conversion means where the
company chooses to launch the complete new website or system to a single location at a time.
The Secret Garden chose to use pilot conversion strategy because it is very helpful for them. The
reason that The Secret Garden chose to use pilot conversion strategy is that The Secret Garden is
a new website, pilot conversion strategy allows the The Secret Garden to see whether the
website will meet the organization's needs in one location before using it and this test group
users may provide valuable feedback to make the eventual rollout to all users go more smoothly.
Moreover, pilot conversion strategy also helps The Secret Garden reduce the risk of failure and
loss which means if The Secret Garden has a small-scale failure it does not cause too much loss
to the whole organisation. because it just launches the website to a single location at time. Next,
pilot conversion strategy enables The Secret Garden to make changes and improve processes on
its website and software without shutting down the entire system.
