1. What are the topics included in teaching intermediate Mathematics?

The topics included in teaching intermediate Mathematics are Numbers and Number Sense,
Geometry, Patterns and Algebra, Measurements, Statistics and Probability.

2. What are the purposes of these standards?


The purpose of these standards is it has roles in achieving the goals of mathematics
education, they are necessary prerequisites to higher level of mathematics, to develop lifelong
skills, so that the students will be ready to interact with the real world.

3. Why do other students fear Mathematics? Explain possible reasons of Math anxiety.
Anxiety can develop as a result of negative math learning experiences in the classroom or at
home. To begin with, the instructor plays a critical role in making the classroom more appealing
and minimizing anxiety. Good math teachers can foster a learning atmosphere in which
students are enthusiastic about their studies. In some cases of the students, they feel tears or
rage, especially if they only arise during math, could indicate nervousness. Students who suffer
from math anxiety are often harsh on themselves and operate under the detrimental and
incorrect belief that being successful at math entails getting right answers quickly. These
attitudes and thoughts are quite debilitating.
